The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Reporting to the Firm's Hybrid Product Efficiency Champion, the Cross Functional Leader will be responsible to define the next generation hybrid architectures & systems for future vehicle programs. Key Responsibilities:
Invent and frame the hybrid concepts based on benchmarking data & cycle plan direction.
Agree the proposed project content with the Powertrain, Electrical & Chassis teams.
Develop new Hybrid concepts by drafting system architectures to fulfil future attributes & features requirements, including investment and material cost estimates.
Detail the project offering using a technology summary document and create research and advanced project proposals.
The successful candidate will also be reporting the project status at forums within the Powertrain team and to external departments with Senior management present.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills; System engineering experience in hybrid or Power Train engineering including a strong technical knowledge of key hybrid technologies (i.e. electrical motor, battery, transmission, charger, decoupled brakes) Knowledge of Powertrain/Hybrid programmes, with the ability to create new programme proposals. Good interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability and experience in interacting and communicating effectively at all levels within the organisation.
Educated to BE minimum, Master or PhD equivalent level preferred, in a related System Engineering, Embedded Control Design, Automatic, Electrical, or Automotive discipline. Experience of being successful in managing complex technical issues, balance conflicting needs of the business and within project timing constraints. User of Microsoft Office packages including MSProject.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of Hybrid Powertrain systems and/or Electrical systems. Knowledge of software delivery control plans. Knowledge of target setting process. Knowledge of FMA & Function Safety.
