The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The client are developing over 40 product actions to improve and expand its range of premium vehicles and best in class engines. To support this growth we are now seeking a new addition to the Advanced Product Creation (APC) Powertrain Systems Engineering (PTSE) team to engineer the Cooling systems to meet the requirements and performance expected by our customers. This is a new role to act as the Lead Engineer for Cooling Systems on vehicles with Hybrid Electric functionality. It is essential within Advanced Engineering in establishing the system assumptions, defining technical, tooling, design and piece cost targets to ensure that the business can make the correct strategic decisions for each platform and vehicle line under investigation prior to handing over the project to the Cooling delivery team. The role involves working closely with the Cooling delivery team to ensure that the project assumptions/targets (technical and cost) established are achievable, offer the best sustainable business case for JLR and are in line with commodity strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to build the role and play a major part in developing the next generation of world class powertrains.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities;
Be responsible for the design of Cooling systems on Hybrid Electric Vehicle projects (especially PHEV).
Work with all stakeholders to define system/component designs in line with commodity strategy, requisite standards and programme targets
Establish and maintain assumptions for cost (tooling, Design and Development, piece) and weight status.
Support programme CAD assessment and RMDV population
Establish and maintain technical target brochure and secure agreement with all stakeholder parties
Concur assumptions with Cooling delivery engineering team through technical/project reviews
Report overall status to APC Management and Powertrain Programme Leaders
Concur assumptions with Manufacturing and Service
Document and concur design decisions
Deliver handover process at the appropriate gateway with the receiving Cooling delivery team
Determine (joint with Purchasing and the delivery team) and agree strategic sourcing direction
Agree early supplier involvem

Strong background in forging good working relationships cross-functionally

Strong ability to persuade and convince
Demonstrable capability to dive deep into the details of an issue and maintain focus to close it out
