The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The candidate will be responsible for the delivery of physical durability testing in support of engineering functions.
The department designs, manufactures and operates equipment ranging from single axis rigs through to state of the art full vehicle simulators in laboratories. This department forms the foundation of the vehicle durability verification process and the effective operation of these multi million pound facilities is essential to ensure robust data is generated to support vehicle development programmes.
Main duties will be as follows:
-Conduct calibration of transducers on Hydraulic actuators including displacement and load.
-Computer D/A and A/D boards calibration.
-Calibration of Accelerometers and pressure transducers.
-Manage work requests to ensure all equipment required for tests is in Calibration ready for use.
-Update CID instrumentation database to log in new equipment and to ensure calibration status for all equipment in B522 is up to date.
-Monitor level of equipment in Calibration to provide measures of performance.
-Conduct Calibration of transducers on equipment to support Safety test facilities including accelerometers, etc.
-Conduct calibration of transducers on equipment to support Safety Test facilities. This will involve being audited by UKAS assessors.
-The role will also involve liaising with calibration laboratories at various sites

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
PC literate and experienced in the use of Microsoft Word and excel software. Ability to construct timing plans in Excel to schedule and balance work flow.
Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical transducers, electrical and electronic fault finding an advantage.
The individual needs to be flexible, enthusiastic, be able to work on their own initiative.
The position requires good communication skills.
The position requires a good degree of communication and a high level of numeracy and analytical skills is imperative as the successful candidate will be expected to construct and determine uncertainty budgets.

The candidate will need to be PC literate and experienced in the use of Microsoft Word and excel software.

A good knowledge of mechanical and electrical transducers, electrical and electronic fault finding is an advantage.
Qualified to Degree level and experience in relevant area.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Good knowledge of electrical systems and electronics such that basic fault diagnosis could be performed.
Candidates qualified to degree level in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience of instrumentation and qualification in Calibration techniques desirable.
