The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
Project management of Vehicle Weight targets and deliverables, including benchmarking for future target setting and balancing
Cascade and track vehicle weight requirements to System level and monitoring of status by interacting with System engineers
Co-ordinate and chair Design Efficiency Reviews, using company and competitor data, to assist engineers in vehicle light-weighting
Status reporting and issue resolution up to management level
Opportunity to Learn about Calculation of mass properties from geometry and from First principles
Responsible for Coordination of Generation and maintenance of Vehicle Mass Properties models
Conduct physical weighing and validation of first components and vehicles
Support Vehicle Mass Certification activity ahead of vehicle Launch

Skills Required:
Self-motivated engineer with strong communication skills
Experience of engineering, testing and evaluation and Automotive knowledge of vehicle componentry and layout
Able to demonstrate an understanding of Weight and Mass Properties and it's interaction with other vehicle Attributes
Knowledge of technologies associated with the automotive sector, especially relating to weight reduction
Proven project and time management skills and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision
Able to prioritise own time and work load Deliver under pressure and to challenging deadlines
Prepared to travel to all client sites Full UK driving license Skilled in Microsoft Excel

Experience Required:
Experience of vehicle engineering, or engineering in a weight-sensitive area
.
Education Required:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Education Preferred:
Preferred discipline: Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
