The Company:
My client is one of the leading Energy Consultancies in the UK. There specialist consultants work in one of these four areas; Energy Management; Power Systems and Technology; Planning and Environment; and Software Development (relating to energy consumption).

The Role:
As part of continued expansion they are actively looking to recruit a Specilist Regulatory Engineer based in there Manchester offices.

The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in the issues related to connecting generation projects in the UK, ranging from small FIT sites to large offshore OFTO connected sites and be able to communicate these issues in a clear manner to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be the focus of regulatory knowledge in the team and would be expected to lead and manage multiple projects for a wide range of developers as well as contribute specialist knowledge into other projects being undertaken by the team.

This would include:
• Managing the preparation of initial connection assessments, cost estimates, and detailed connection applications for DNO and TO connected sites
• Negotiating connection offers,
• Reviewing DNO and TO technical and commercial requirements,
• Supporting clients through the regulatory process, assessing risk and potential costs,
• Providing up to date knowledge of CUSC amendments, ENA guidelines and OFGEM consultations,
• Interpreting the implications of these proposals in a clear and concise manner,
• Contributing to grid working groups, consultations and discussions
• Acting as client relationship manager

The successful candidate will have a degree based education or equivalent, Chartered Engineer status or pending with at least three years experience.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
• Excellent knowledge of the UK regulatory situation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality technical reports
• Practical experience of generation connections
