The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Specialized Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineer for a 6 month opportunity in Houston, Texas.

The Role:
Responsibilities:

Specialized Professional Competence:
The applicant will perform stress analysis, both static and dynamic, for pressure equipment, piping, and piping components to determine susceptibility to brittle fracture based on supplied process conditions. Stress analysis models may be required to determine equipment stresses and comparisons must be made to brittle fracture analysis tools and current fitness for service Codes. Based on the assessments, suggested mitigation alternatives will be made to the Operating Companies.

The applicant must be experienced in stress analysis, fracture mechanics, finite element modeling, piping flexibility analysis, failure analysis, and fitness for service assessments, particularly API 579 Part 3. Design experience with API and ASME Codes for petroleum engineering types of equipment and piping is required.


Professional engineering certificate in mechanical engineering and/or advanced degree in engineering are beneficial. Also experience in oil/gas production is a plus.
