The Company:

The Role:
• Lead effort to acquire a series of major source (e.g., Prevention of Significant Deterioration [PSD]) air permits for the project
• Serve as the day-to-day technical staff contact with federal and state regulators dealing with air permitting issues
• Serve as the subject matter expert on air permitting issues, air-related studies, and emissions modeling
• Provide strategic regulatory planning input related to air permitting challenges especially on the Alaska North Slope

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and coordinate implementation of the project Regulatory Roadmap (information delivery and permitting plan) across Asset Teams as it relates to air permitting
• Assist in cost and schedule estimating, forecasting, and stewardship with focus on air permitting
• Monitor emerging air permitting regulations at the federal and state level
• Ensure that environmental and regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines relevant to the air permitting effort are properly integrated into project design and implementation plans
• Maintain alignment within the ERL Team regarding overall work plans and obligations; organize / participate in weekly and monthly meetings with ERL contractors and ERL Team to ensure common understanding of requirements / deliverables and status of the work
• Assist in the public consultation component of the air permitting process
• Highlight air permitting issues / recommendations to the Senior State Permit Advisor on a real-time basis for resolution
• Steward ongoing activities and compliance issues as directed by the Senior State Permit Advisor
• Manage interfaces among the various disciplines responsible for progressing action items
• Provide weekly and monthly progress reporting on air permitting status and issues
• Provide personal SSH&E leadership in actions as a project team member
• Handle other ERL duties as requested by the Senior State Permit Advisor

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University Degree in Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Engineering or other field related to environmental study (advanced degree preferred)
• 10 to >15 years broad-based experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance in the oil and gas industry, mining developments, and/or linear transportation with strong subject matter expertise on Alaska air permitting processes
• Experience working air compliance and permitting on the North Slope preferred, but not required
• Proven management and leadership skills
• Experience with interacting with federal, state, and local government officials
• Experience interacting with a variety of external entities (e.g., local communities, NGO’s, etc.)
• Strong influencing, consulting, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational and technical judgment skills
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills; persuasive with strong business perspective
