The Role:
Sr. Commissioning Specialist Instrumentation & Control manages the planning and execution of commissioning for the project instruments and control systems. This position interacts within the Project team between different disciplines and sub-teams; Operations and with the EPC contractors. The position transitions from the PMT office to the integration yard and offshore (rotational). The Commissioning Lead I&C shall be responsible for the following activities:
• Lead and manage pre-commissioning and commissioning of hull and topsides I&C systems.
• Develop detailed plans for I&C system commissioning activities. Clearly define the work scope and responsibilities.
• Provide input to hull and topsides I&C system designs for alignment with commissioning plans.
• Review and finalize detailed I&C systems commissioning procedures.
• Review and finalize system and sub-system level definition for I&C systems.
• Provide input to the Level 4 schedule. Monitor progress of electrical system construction and commissioning
• Attend FAT’s.
• Participate in system walkthroughs and verify instrument installation and reinstatement. Develop punch list items. Manage the resolution of punch lists raised.
• Review redlined drawings. Enforce MOC procedures.
• Provide leadership and oversight to Contractor instrumentation technicians and teams.
• Witness and approve all instrument loop checks, C&E checks, SIS system checks, controller tuning, F&G system checks etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve identified problems.
• Provide work direction to the I&C commissioning team.
• Work closely with electrical and telecomm system commissioning personnel. Interface with the systems completion database administrator.
• Interface with the design I&C engineers. Support transfer of I&C data from document management system into the systems completion database.
• Interface with the SEV and SIC personnel.
• Monitor I&C system preservation during construction and commissioning.
• Review and finalize offshore work packs.
• Monitor offshore work productivity and budget spend. Interface with Quantity Surveyors.
• Support the Permit to Work Coordinator.
• Monitor Vendor mobilization plans.
• Support the OIM in POB planning.
• Support finalization of mechanical completion dossiers.
• Liaise with operations in developing start up plans.
• Support turnover of systems to Operations, Verify changeover of LOTO etc.
• Ensure compliance with the Gendalo-Gehem systems completion work process.
• Participate in engineering and process safety reviews; HAZIDs and HAZOPs, Risk Management reviews, SIMOPS reviews, Operations Readiness Reviews, Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews.
• Demonstrate and enforce IIF expectations during offshore commissioning.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering or relevant Certification courses
• Minimum 10-15 years experience in oil and gas and / or petrochemical industry
• 5-10 years in pre-commissioning and commissioning of instrumentation & control systems
• Familiarity with construction activities such as instrument calibration, testing and installation; cable installation; cable continuity and insulation testing; instrument tubing cleaning, flushing and leak testing; alarm and shutdown setting adjustment; control system function testing; loop testing; hot oil flushing of tubing; preservation etc.
• Familiarity with instrumentation software such as INTOOLS etc. Familiarity with commissioning software
• Hands on experience with ICSS, SIS, F&G and Subsea Control System
• Experience in management of multinational workforce and sub-contractor organizations.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards
• Preferable, non-mandatory - Valid Sea Survival and HUET certification
