The Role:
Purpose of Job:
• To provide specialist flow metering and QMI maintenance and operation support for all onshore and offshore areas
To implement the requirements of the BSP-72 and to assume the responsibilities for the applicable metering & QMI tasks described in that documentation.
• To provide specialist metering and associated QMI (including custody transfers and fiscal metering systems) 3rd line maintenance support to all Asset Units.
• Review and develop maintenance plans / work instruction for these systems and carry out audits and periodic analyses of maintenance and calibration activities.
• To support field trials and evaluation of new metering instrumentation.
• Maintain the Corporate liquid and gas metering database for all BSP meters.
• Manage the custodianship of software backup for metering and QMI systems
• Keep abreast of new development in measuring technology and promote best practice sharing across BSP.
Main Contacts:
• In-house client departments, Asset Units, and vendors/suppliers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Required: BSc degree in Measurement & Control
Preferred: Chartered Engineer and/or corporate membership of recognised professional body.
Competence Required:
• Good communication skills and aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
• Technical professional with 8-10 years discipline experience in oil and gas industry. Good interpersonal, supervisory communications, leading and co-ordinating skills
• Full understanding of HSE management principles including procedures and instructions, and its application in BSP
• Have a good understanding of related other maintenance disciplines.
Special Abilities:
Be skilled with all types of metering and QMI system that include orifice, venturi, turbine, displacement, coriolis, electromagnetic and ultrasonic, flow computers, GLCs, densitometer and BS&W meters.
• Sound working knowledge of current multiphase flow meters
• Be familiar with all relevant stand
