The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
This position assumes the role of Process Discipline Responsible Engineer for the Export Systems Engineering Team, providing Process support and optimisation across oil & gas export operations throughout Azerbaijan and Georgia.

An important part of the development of the Caspian region is the development of Azerbaijani and Georgian national labour, and successful candidate will be required to play a key role in the coaching and development of nationals in the team.

The post will be based in Baku office, but will require at least 25% travelling & field based work in Azerbaijan and Georgia.

This position can be residential or rotational (6/2)

- Discipline Responsible Engineer and primary contact for all process engineering issues
- Participate in and perform HAZOPs, design reviews, and risk assessments
- Provide technical guidance on the application of codes and standards with respect to process engineering
- Monitor and recommend parameters to ensure plant operations remain within safe range of design
- Provide PE input and review of site & system operating procedures
- Provide PE support to the IM Conformance programme
- Analyze system performance data to optimise throughput
- Develop pertinent Plant Performance KPIs
- Interface with Offshore & Onshore Operations Teams to ensure experiences and lessons learned are incorporated into the operations and maintenance strategies of process systems and equipment.
- Analyse equipment performance data to identify any plant constraints affecting the achievement of the Production and Operating Efficiency Targets.
- Play leading role in the Process Upset Report (PUR) process & defect elimination
- Develop and execute a performance testing program to quantify the actual nameplate capacity of the oil & gas facilities.
- Participate in Production Technical Limits reviews to update the Operating Envelope & IPC
- Conceptual and front-end design of proposed plant modifications
- Provide input to future project teams on reliability and maintainability issues, influencing design on additional project phases to assure operational needs are met.
- Coach, mentor and contribute to the professional development of national process engineers.
- Contribute to the development of a regional process engineering/operations engineering competency assurance program, covering all process systems, to both ensure operations personnel are competent to perform their role, and to aid in their development.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering/Process Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Chemical Engineering/Process Engineering.
- Experience in export pipelines and operating/pump facilities.
- Proven history in process engineering and operation of oil & gas processing equipment and systems.
- Skilful application of hydraulic calculations and pipeline operations.
- Understanding of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and diversity skills.
- Strong HSE focus and commitment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Self motivated and able to work both independently and as a good team player.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Experienced in process safety management with emphasis on HAZOP, mechanical integrity, and management of change
- A good understanding of major unit operations associated with production engineering, particularly compression, separation and gas dehydration / re-injection, pumps.
- Experience with Process/Pipeline Simulation (i.e. Hysys, Pipesim, Pipeline Studio)
- Preferably Chartered Engineer, or working towards membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution.
