The Role:
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Provide overall SSHE leadership and guidance to support the Project Team in achieving "Nobody Gets Hurt", “Protect Tomorrow. Today.”, and “Security is Everybody’s Business”. Champion application of the client's safety processes to benefit project performance. Facilitate / encourage heightened SSH&E awareness and behavior throughout the project. Support / Advise Project Manager, Project Team, and SSH&E Leadership Team in areas of safety, health, and emergency preparedness. Ensure establishment of adequate control processes and implementation per the Project Safety Plan, Project Environmental Plan, and Project Emergency Preparedness & Response Plan. Work closely with Contractor to ensure effective implementation.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with Project SSH&E team to ensure alignment of project strategies / plans.
• Interface with the Project Teams as necessary to support project activities and identify/implement best practices and lessons learned.
• Coach and facilitate implementation of systematic Safety processes to assure compliance with the Project Safety Plan requirements. Includes direct leadership / support for key company requirements such as Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Loss Prevention Observations (LPO), and Safe Performance Self Assessments (SPSA).
• Advise Contractor of company's Safety requirements, expectations, and best practices.
• Monitor and support the activities of the Contractor's Project SSH&E organization.
• Provide support for risk assessments and studies. Ensure results are addressed as relevant field work is executed.
• Conduct Safety inspections and assessments at the various project sites and assist Project Team in resolving assessment findings.
• Assist with incident investigation and development of action plans. Provide root cause analysis expertise to support these efforts and review reports.
• Guide/Mentor Contractor’s safety personnel

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University degree and / or technical diploma / certification (e.g., CSP, PE, NEBOSH, etc.) or equivalent
• Broad technical and SSH&E skills with working knowledge of project management and operations. Thorough knowledge of Safety standards, codes, and practices.
• 10+ years broad-based experience, with prior experience in SSH&E-related disciplines
• Proven management and leadership skills
• Maintains a high degree of ethical conduct.
• Must be able to effectively communicate / influence multiple levels, from Senior Level Manager to Worker.
• Proficient in primary Microsoft Office programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
• Adaptable to changing priorities
