The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Current Car Engineer reports to site commodity manager in the Supplier Technical Assistance organisation working for the Powertrain function. Working closely with the external supplier base and internal functions. Primary objective is to ensure all suppliers attain and maintain the required standards of product quality being supplied to manufacturing plants.

By understanding the key supplier issues affecting
a) Right First Time and First Time Through manufacturing plant metrics.
b) Delivering Automated Issues Management System time to pend and close targets.
c) Engaging key suppliers in developing and delivering supplier sufficiency plans, and
d) Robust closure of Warranty and Field action and Stop Shipment issues, including closure against target of white alerts.

Additional Information :
Manufacturing / Quality based learning Engineering Degree desirable but not essential - Requirement for overseas travel primarily Europe - No travel restrictions. - Full driving licence - Has own Suitable transport to visit UK based suppliers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

1)Strong Problem Solving and Analytical skills 6sigma trained or similar Knowledge and application of /PPS/Problem resolution techniques including 6 sigma.
2) High Level communication and leadership skills enabling influence Suppliers Senior teams.
3)Self Starting, Self Motivated, Proactive and well organised individual being strong in all types of communication.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience Required:
Proven Track record of delivering projects utilising recognised project management tools and techniques. - Demonstratable understanding and application of quality systems and processes

"- Extensive experience in supplier operating and manufacturing processes. -
Experience in powertrain components and manufacturing processes would be an advantage, includes, Base Engine, Driveline, Fueling Cooling and Exhaust Systems"
