The Company:
Our client is currently engaged in the development of one of the first LNG Liquefaction and Export facilities in the U.S.

The Role:
STAFF ACCOUNTANT – HOUSTON

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for performing a full spectrum of financial, regulatory, reporting and accounting assignments including preparation of complex financial reports and related analysis.

Duties:

•Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
•Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.
•Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
•Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records, files and reconciling accounts.
•Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
•Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
•Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
•Provides accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information; converting data to general ledger system; obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements.
•Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
•Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education:

•Requires a bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, economics, related business administration field.

•CPA, CMA, MBA and/or other professional certificates/advanced degrees are preferred.

Experience:

•A minimum of three years of related public or private accounting experience. Requires public and/or professional accounting experience.


Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:

•Excellent accounting and financial skills.
•Working knowledge of other Microsoft products such as Schedule +, Exchange, PowerPoint, etc. also a plus.
•Proficient in analyzing data.
•Ability of estimation and form conclusions and depict future course based on the available financial details.
•Excellent communication skills and can communicate well with all departments in order to ensure that the accounts are accurate.
•Able to work with high accuracy and has the ability to work with high precision.
•Able to meet deadlines and may have to work under stress.
