The Company:
Leading O&G operator in Malaysia.

The Role:
1. Technical Leadership
 Develop technology strategy and roadmap and tracking of its implementation
 Proactively identify technical requirements and value creation opportunities in his area of expertise.
 Responsible and accountable for technical aspects of project and improvement initiatives.
 Provide leadership in driving and monitoring technical implementation of operational/engineering improvement initiatives/best practices and capturing lesson learnt
2. Consultancy
 Provide technical guidance and advice on area of specialization (e.g. technical support in trouble shooting, problem diagnostics,, technical audits & benchmarking, project risk assessment, etc)
 Provide technical solutions to specific issues/potential problems (e.g. reliability/integrity improvement, bad actor resolution, etc)
3. Technical Talent Development
 Develop/review/enhance technical capability development tools, e.g. Technology Inventory & Ruler (TI& R), Skill Inventory & ruler (SI & R) and Skill Development Matrix (SDM)
 Develop/review training requirements and modules and conduct training (e.g. Skill group and Trade group)
 Undertake technical coaching (which includes review and tracking of Individual coaching Plan (ICP) and leadership coaching
 Conduct technical competency assessment (e.g. Accelerated Capability Development (ACD), Technical Trade Specialist (TTS), Technical Professional (TP), etc
4. Technical Professional Excellence
 Network with technical experts for continuous technical development and advancement
 Seek introduce best practices/technology/innovative ideas and work processes
 Participate and contribute in Community of Practices (CoP)/Improvement Working Group (IWG)
 Participate and share knowledge of best practices within the industry and higher learning and higher learning institutions, e.g.
 Write and publish technical journals/present papers – Regional and Internal
 Contribute at UTP and other higher learning institutions – adjunct lectureship, syllabus/curriculum review
 Participate in initiatives by external technical committees/regulatory bodies (e.g drafting of standards, reviewing conference papers, chairing conferences, etc
 Be involved in professional bodies/external committees (e.g. IEM, SPE, ICHemE)

Job Accountabilities :
1. Develop, plan and implement materials performance and degradation monitoring programmes that contribute towards maintaining the integrity of plant static equipment and to ensure compliance with statutory(DOSH) requirements, relevant design codes and safety procedures.
2. Perform asset integrity diagnostic for high temperature materials performance and degradation or equipment failures and provide feedback/recommendations to superior/higher management for immediate corrective action in order to safeguard the mechanical integrity and reliability of the operating equipment and facilities.
3. Develop materials integrity programmes and testing requirements such that inspection intervals are optimized and also to provide a basis for self-regulation of registered equipment.
4. Establish materials testing and verification procedures, interpret codes and standards as per specifications and designate particular
test methods, techniques and procedures to be used to ensure compliance with applicable industry guidelines, standards and statutory regulations.
5. Identify and propose relevant technical training and other accredited programmes to attain a higher standard of competency for increased productivity and performance among subordinates.
6. Develop and implement a comprehensive shutdown/turnaround inspection plan and ensure professional credibility is established with DOSH by demonstrating through preparation and Turnaround execution.
7. Prepare and propose annual materials integrity programme budget to effectively manage daily operating and turnaround inspection costs to achieve goals and targets adopted by the OPU.
8. Establish contract services and ensure that technically competent and experienced contractors and personnel are performing materials testing and evaluation.
9. Participate in investigative work relating to failure analysis and solicit help with external specialists and consultants as deemed appropriate for equipment repair or mitigating damage consequences for continued plant operation.
10. Develop welding technology, materials selection and material testing database to enhance in house capabilities and competencies
11. Networking and Relationship Building Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport with the government authorities, business and management institutions, national and key industry players and service providers to keep abreast with latest development to capture new business opportunities.
12. Codes of Conduct (COCD) and HSE Policies Communicate, interpret and champion the execution of the objectives and provisions of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)policies and Codes of Conduct and Discipline (COCD) and undertake appropriate mitigation and/or intervention programmes to safeguard business operations, high staff discipline and industrial harmony.
13. Leadership and Capability Development
Drive the development of competent working team that will enhance and sustain staff capabilities in achieving high performance delivery to ensure internalization of the right leadership and capabilities in executing their jobs.
14. Mindset, Behaviour and Culture
Develop and implement distinctive mindset, behavior and culture to achieve high work performance by adoption and implementation of value interventions, tools and methodologies to promote and instill high sense of commitment, ownership, integrity and loyalty that will contribute to operational excellence.
