The Company:
Our client, a major oil company with operations in Canada and internationally, has an immediate need for a Staff Reservoir Engineer in their St. John’s, Newfoundland office.

The Role:
Based in St. John’s, reporting functionally to the Reservoir Engineering Manager, the Reservoir Engineer will work with the Terra Nova and/or Joint Ventures Subsurface Teams, including other engineers and geoscientists, to provide reservoir technical analysis to support the ongoing operations and investments within the East Coast region of the the Client and Production Business Unit. The fields include Terra Nova, Hibernia, White Rose, Hebron and other nearby add-ons and exploration opportunities.

The Staff Reservoir Engineer, with support from the Reservoir Engineering Manager and other technical specialists, will collaborate with other team members to:

- Evaluation and optimization of existing pool performance (property development strategy)
- Technical reservoir and economic analyses of incremental investments in existing assets
- Evaluate potential growth opportunities – add-ons, exploration, etc
- Provide support to production and well operations
- Model fluid characterization and well test analysis
- Build and maintain reservoir simulation models
- Complete fluid characterization and well test analysis
- Oil and gas reserve evaluation using analytic and numerical simulation tools

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Sound understanding of key reservoir engineering principles is essential
- Broad reservoir engineering experience including reservoir simulation and development planning experience in waterflooded fields is highly attractive
- PVT, SCAL, reservoir characterization, miscible flooding and/or WAG experience are considered assets
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary integrated team environment
- Well developed critical thinking (ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions, conclusions and make appropriate recommendations)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum or related discipline)
