The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
We currently have an opportunity to work on an Oil & Gas mega-project, which has scope being managed in several locations. This role is a discipline specific role overseeing all SWHU and Closure welding onsite. This position will require a strong background in piping fabrication from a dimensional, welding, NDE and pressure testing perspective. Candidates holding or having held NDE certification, CSWIP 3.2 or equivalent will have a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate will have a specific QA/QC skill set, possess 10-15 years in oil and gas with auditing to ISO 9001 qualifications and have the ability to trouble shoot and do investigative analysis as required.

Carry out inspection of the works in progress to ensure compliance with project specified requirements.
Monitoring contractors welding and their welding processes, including review of WPS & Welder Qualification
Ensure effective implementation of ITPs & FIC’s (or ITR) by the Contractor and attendance at Company/Client Witness and Hold points.

Monitoring contractors welding consumables storage & traceability, including their NDE records and weld mapping.
Provision of technical support to Company and Contractor’s QC personnel as required.

Maintain routine surveillance and monitoring of structural and pipe welding activities.

Promote safety awareness (Incident Injury Free) and safe performance example at site, fabrication yards, subcontractors and vendor shops participation in IIF. Completes safety observations monthly and as required (TSTO)

General Comments:
• Proactive approach to resolving quality issues.
• Basic computing skills and working knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel.
• Formal safety training.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
• Previous experience of working on LNG projects.
• Candidate shall display confidence in representing the Client when interfacing with Contractors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a welding inspector on major O&G construction projects
• Minimum certification; CSWIP 3.1 welding inspector / WTIA AS 1796 certificate No 10 / WTIA AS 2214
• Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards i.e. AS, API, ASME, AWS.
• Good understanding of QA/QC requirements for final documentation on O&G related construction projects.
• Previous experience on module hook ups.
• Provision of technical support to Company and Contractor’s QC personnel as required.
