The Company:
Our client is a major operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
This is a temporary role for 3 months’ duration to provide additional resource within the stock accounting team during the transition to a new stock accounting system for specific UK based assets. The role requires the appointed person commits to working on bank holidays and extended working hours during workdays one and two each month.

• To have the responsibility for accurate entry of daily stock and sales transactions in all supply, trading and accounting systems.
• To have the responsibility for accurate entry of Benelux sales data into accounting systems.
• To have the responsibility of correctly accounting for key UK stock locations at period ends and accurate closure of the other UK locations. Assist with the agreement and reporting of stock positions for UK locations, both internally and externally to client.
• To assist stock analyst with control issues for all UK stock and sales movements within airside data capture system, liasing with UK Airports, client, Third Party Terminals and Third Party Suppliers.
• To be a point of contact for all UK stock and sales queries and the use of interface systems. To be a point of contact for all Benelux sales queries.


• Input and reconcile sales and stock data for 4 UK airports and 9 Benelux airports.
• Input pipeline and vessel movements into accounting systems.
• Reconcile all DHL road movements.
• Clear stocks and sales queries for UK and Benelux in a timely manner.
• Input stock movements on behalf of supply and trading and maintain a transactional log to ensure correct balancing at month end.
• Significant workload bias for morning activity with 10am and Noon deadlines.

Period Ends
• Reconcile stock in systems for all UK airports and key UK stock locations at mid-month and month end.
• Input month end supply and trade movements and reconcile these with to produce and agreed close position by close of 1st working day.
• Ensure that no extraordinary loss/gains have been posted, before the close at 2200 hours 2nd working day.
• Produce stock and sales reports for Benelux locations by close of business on 1st working day.
• Agree closing stock balances with OPA and IST. Investigate and resolve any differences.
• Produce monthly exchange movement reports and send these to third party suppliers. Investigate and resolve any differences.

• Write or update stock accounting procedures as required.

Working Relationships:
Airport Managers and Staff: Airside data and movement reconciliation.
Supply & Trading: Stock balancing, vessel, transit pipeline movements, pipe vessel, road, paper and exchange movements.
Stock balancing, transit rail movements, vessel and paper movements.
Agree stock balances and transactional data
Third Party Suppliers: Exchange balances and movements, pipeline, vessel and road movements, airside fuelings.
Third Party Terminals: Pipe and road movements.
DHL: Control of road movements.
UK Commercial Supply Manager: Sales and exchange movements.
Credit, Collection and Pricing Teams: Contras and replacements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Highly numerate
Proven investigative and problem solving skills
Must be methodical and accurate
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Basic understanding of accounting, preferably stock accounting
Good pc skills
Good organisational skills.
Good communication skills/team player
Experience of ISP-M or other stock accounting system an advantage
