The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds largest providers of technical services across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear.

The Role:
Based - Westlakes/Sellafield

The role requires the 'Structural / Civil Engineer' to provide specialist engineering design core skills to support nuclear projects. This will involve the delivery of 'Structural / Civil Engineering Design packages' to support Life Time Plans (LTP) that best meets our customer's needs both now and in the future.

The work will typically include small to medium sized design tasks with a 'quick turn around' to support plant / operations and projects as required.

The candidate will be expected to undertake the necessary detailed design and design management tasks as required by the Site Architects Senior Engineer.

Work will involve access into radiologically controlled areas.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications - HNC or Civil Engineering degree
Essential Experience - Production of design calculations (hand and computational structural analysis) to support design packages within the office. Including drainage, steelwork, RC concrete, timber and masonry.
Design and assessment of structures and plant to withstand normal operation loadings using 'Staad Pro / Tedds / and other industry standard analysis and design software packages.
The undertaking of civil / structural site surveys including condition / line-level and structural.
Proficient use of Autocad 2010 and associated support packages to produce detailed design drawings.
Checking and approval of engineering design packages.
Interfacing with clients and regulators to provide CS&A engineering advice which best meet the project and overall business needs.
Ensuring that the Engineering is customer focused to provide demonstrable added value.
Supporting the 'CS&A Responsible Engineer Role' to support site projects / task

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Experience - Undertaken design work for Sellafield in the past.
SC cleared, P4 pass holder, Monitored (or Classified) Worker - currently held will be beneficial - will be required to start role.
Experience producing structural calculations in masonry, timber and other structural materials
