The Company:
Our client is an international Oil & Gas Operator

The Role:
The Structural Construction Supervisor plays a key project team integration role and is expected to be knowledgeable across all functional areas of the project component for which they are assigned. The position is responsible for the safety, quality, integrity and timely completion of the steel fabrication activities in compliance with company standards and specifications. This includes participation with the Construction Manager and Construction Superintendent on constructability reviews during the design phase and planning/preparatory works. Provide supervision on all aspects of steel fabrication and assembly through mechanical completion and preparation of commissioning.

- Lead by example and ensure that client's HSE&Q policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to in all phases of the work.
- Ensure the implementation of site Safety Management System; deliver on pre-agreed site and project HSE&Q targets for Company and Contractor staff.
- Participate in HSE related activities - Tool Box Meetings, Site HSE walks / inspections.
- Participate in review and approval of Construction Method statement submittals.
- Provide experienced input into the structural part of the schedule to ensure a realistic schedule is produced.
- Participate in the project risk management process
- Ensure that all Readiness for Structural construction activities on site are conducted in a timely manner in accordance with the Project schedule
- Closely monitor the performance of the Contractor on structural fabrication, fit-up, dimensional checks and control, lifting, assembly, trial fits, load out and sea fastening.
- Assess impact of identified deviations from the agreed cope or premises of the project, and ensure remedial actions are agreed, planned and implemented
- Provide technical input to the cost group to fairly assess any contractual claims from the main contractor.
- Liaise closely with a group of Structural / Welding Inspectors and ensure that the project's topsides are constructed as per the design requirements and to the quality standard necessary for compliance with Norwegian authorities and Company requirements.
- Ensure that all structural construction work is completed safely, on time and within the allocated budget with a “seamless” transfer of to the Commissioning team.
- Review all site transport and heavy lift activities and final load-out to ensure that these operations are properly engineered, planned and carried out in a safe manner.
- Help resolve field clarifications that may arise with the contractor and the equipment suppliers. Review and make recommendations for all “Field Variation order requests” and / or “Request for information” queries.
- Ensure Contractor personnel follow project work and process procedures throughout the construction phase.
- Conduct and minute weekly meetings with Structural Discipline personnel from Contractor to cover all HSE and structural related activities on site.
- Provide input as required into the weekly and monthly management reports.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Tertiary education within civil / structural engineering and Construction
- Les formal education may be compensated by documented relevant experience
- Minimum 15 years experience of construction of large North Sea Projects
- Extensive relevant experience as a Structural Construction Supervisor
- Working knowledge and experience with Norwegian offshore engineering & construction codes and standards would be advantageous
- Regulatory competence for the petroleum industry
- Experience with EPC type contracts
- Min 5 years Experience working with SE Asian Construction Contractors
- Fluent in English, verbal and written
