The Role:
• Follow up LQ EPC contractor engineering, construction and mechanical completion within structural engineering and – construction.
• Engineering follow up will amongst others include follow up of Contractor’s weight engineering and reporting.
• Identification and follow up of 3rd Party Verification activities.
• The Structural engineer plays a key role in the project team. The position is responsible for the follow up of safety, quality, integrity, timely completion and cost of the steel – and aluminium fabrication. This includes amongst others:
• Participation in constructability reviews during the design phase
• Planning/preparatory works.
• Supervision on all aspects of steel – and aluminium fabrication and assembly through mechanical completion
• Preparation of commissioning.
• Potentially participate in Company team during commissioning.
• Main tasks:
• Lead by example and ensure that Detnor HSE&Q policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to in all phases of the work.
• Ensure the implementation of site Safety Management System.
• Participate in HSE related activities - Tool Box Meetings, Site HSE walks / inspections.
• Ensure that the relevant Contract scope of work, Functional Requirements and technical requirements are understood and implemented by the Contractor.
• Ensure follow up of relevant parts of EPC Contractor Appendix A and E and relevant CTRs
• Ensure development of cost effective technical solutions in accordance with the specified quality.
• Prepare input and update technical documents forming the framework for engineering to be performed by contractors such as DTOR Documents, Functional Requirements, General Technical Specifications, etc.
• Initiate and /or participate in engineering assessments, reviews and QA/QC activities required to ensure technical solutions meets good engineering practices and are in accordance with Contract technical requirements
• Ensure regular Contractors discipline meetings are recorded.
• Ensure specific attention to NCS regulation compliance
• Input and support to the following relevant activities:
• LLI process
• Company planning process
• Interfaces
• Participate in project risk analysis sessions
• Ensure that necessary engineering documentation is reviewed and commented regarding technical integrity and compliance with project requirements.
• Review design changes and monitor satisfactory implementation.
• Participate in process with TQ’s, NCR’s and Deviations.
• Ensure knowledge to and perform work in accordance with established procedures necessary for performing the work.
• Attend Engineering – and Construction meetings and highlight structural engineering matters as required.
• Prepare input to periodic management reports as requested.
• Monitor discipline progress in accordance with agreed milestone plan and contractor plans.
• Participate in review and approval of JSA / Construction Method statement submittals.
• Provide experienced input into the structur

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Master degree within Structural Engineering. Lower degree will be considered with relevant practical experience
• More than 10 years of relevant (structural engineering) experience from working in oil and gas industry on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
• Experience with construction and completion of EPC Topside Projects to Norwegian regulations (NORSOK)
• Regulatory competence from the petroleum industry
