The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
 Manage the Structural Elements of Major Projects Group ensuring that activities executed are consistent with Company goals, strategies and UK Legislation.
 Manage work scopes executed by Engineering Design and Construction Contractors and Consultants
 Interface with Company Corporate Departments
 Monitor and Control the progress of design deliverables to the desired quality standard with regard also to cost and schedule
 Ensure all Structural activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values, Procedures and Specifications
 Co-ordinate the preparation, tendering, evaluation, award of purchase orders relating to structural matters including those elements contained within the larger detail design, construction, hook up and commissioning contracts.
 Co-ordinate all necessary third party studies to support development of the facilities and achieve Statutory approvals where appropriate.
 Critique Contractor’s and Consultants methodologies and deliverables proposing alternative strategies where appropriate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Chartered Engineer Preferred, with Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
• Extensive knowledge and experience in application of Structural Engineering (including the applicable regulations, codes and standards)
• Current offshore medical and survival certification (preferred)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineer with considerable relevant engineering experience in Structural matters within Oil & Gas Environment
• Fully conversant with UK offshore requirements
• Ability to plan and produce structural engineering deliverables relative to Major Projects Requirements
• Ability to manage structural plans, estimates and deliverable production by E&C Contractor and Consultants
