The Company:
A leading Operator within Oil and Gas with a rapidly expanding team based in London

The Role:
The Structural Engineer duties will include but not be limited to the following:
• Acts as the project technical focal point for issues concerning offshore structural engineering
• Ensures technical compliance, accuracy, quality and execution of all aspects of offshore structural design at conceptual, FEED and EPC levels in accordance with client requirements
• Acts as the client representative for structural engineering issues insuring work performed by the Contractor is executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Reviews and approves structural engineering deliverables submitted by the Contractor ensuring full life-cycle technical integrity issues are considered throughout the project life; i.e. pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design, procurement/manufacture, construction, installation, and planned operation and maintenance.
• Stewards structural engineering queries from the Contractor as well as technical information requests.
• Participates in structural model reviews using SACS and SESAME software applications
• Evaluates and solves unique and/or complex structural problems driving work to completion while remaining on schedule.
• Participates in safety, compliance and environmental reviews for all phases of the project as the structural representative.
• Keeps the Design Authority Lead informed of structural engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns.
• Liaises with multifunctional asset team, i.e. FE, Operations, to identify parallel projects and/or synergies that may influence or impact project concept selection.
• Participates in project assurance workshops (i.e. VIP’s) throughout Phase 2 and ensures discipline design investigation work is completed by the responsible parties.
• Understands customer focus and anticipates opportunities.
• Develops weekly Structural progress reports identifying key areas of opportunity and risk. Provides input into monthly project reporting.
• Position to work closely with onsite MRI and OPS requiring infrequent offshore visits
• Extensive experience within the oil and gas industry, of both fixed and floating facilities, including foundations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
a) Extensive experience within the oil and gas industry
b) At least ten (10) years experience in an operating company
c) Extensive knowledge of the construction and installation of offshore structures, applicable codes and standards
d) Extensive knowledge of industry standards related to structural engineering including best practices for standards and procedures.
e) A solid track record of achievement in offshore structural design at conceptual, FEED and/or EPC/ PMC levels, including structural analysis (static, dynamic, fatigue, push-over, ship impact, etc) using traditional hand calculation, computer analysis and finite element software.
f) Knowledge of materials and their mechanical, static and fatigue properties
