The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a residential contract within Kazakhstan

Duration: 3 years contract
Rates: Day rate + package
Type of Contract: Residential

Purpose:
The purpose of the Engineering organization comprises the following key aspects:
Provide technical assurance to the company that design, construction and commissioning of projects and plant changes are implemented according to appropriate technical standards, including RoK mandatory standards.
Support the delivery of all projects and plant changes , covering all offshore and onshore plant, facilities and infrastructure.
Manage an engineering service, which delivers solutions for the customers (Project and Asset Managers) that meet key business goals such as asset integrity, availability, reliability and product quality.
Ensure a structured approach to transfer knowledge from expatriate staff to national staff.
The Senior Offshore Structures Engineer provides expertise on all aspects of Offshore Structures Engineering

Responsibilities:
Assures technical integrity of the installations throughout their life cycle. This includes responsibilities for the Technical Authority 2 (TA2) role for Offshore Structures within the Civil, Structural & Offshore (CSO) Engineering discipline:
Ensures all deliverables produced by/for the disciplines as defined in the respective Controls and Assurance Plans (PCAP or ACAL) comply with the approved Codes & Standards.
Reviews and approves business critical deliverables requiring TA-2 authorisation appropriate to their discipline
Participates in technical audits of contractor deliverables.
As appropriate, recommends and justifies deviations from the approved Codes & Standards to the TA-1.
Reviews and assesses competency of contractor’s personnel within their Discipline.
Exercises appropriate discipline controls for projects throughout the ORP phases (Identify, Assess, Select, Define, Execute)
Provides Offshore Structures Engineering support to Operation. This primarily involves providing discipline input as required into the commissioning / start-up of new or modified plant, the maintenance / operation of existing plant and requires an effective interface with the Operations organization for Process facilities and/or Asset Managers for Infrastructure facilities
Contributes to review of the critical as-built documents and drawings related to the discipline for assets and for all projects.
Plays a key coaching role for local staff in the skill pool
Participates in HSSE reviews
Participates in incident investigations as required
Contributes to the development of the Technology plan for the discipline
Supports preparation of cost estimates and schedules to carry out Offshore Structures work
Prepares as required Offshore Structures Engineering standards for TA1 review
Evaluates Vendors/suppliers/contractors for Offshore Structures services and equipment as required
Continually seeks to improve ways of working to improve performance and to improve value delivery to projects

Qualifications & Experience:
An engineering degree and minimum 12 years relevant engineering, maintenance and/or operations experience
Recognised specialist in the global CSO engineering skill pool
Significant field experience gathered from a range of locations
Ability to quickly establish relationships with practitioners to ensure discipline engineering processes and standards are consistently applied
Aware of & familiar with issues surrounding high pressure and high H2S facilities
Well proven interpersonal & communication skills
Familiar and comfortable with working in an out-posted l environment, with significantly different operating modes
Experience of driving business improvement in engineering, key words being: technology, fit-for-purpose solutions and cost effectiveness
An energetic person with drive and stamina who is solution-oriented, customer-focused and who can deal with a multitude of, at times, challenging interfaces.

Working Conditions:
Office based environment with occasional visits to plant sites
Highly international and intercultural environment.
