The Company:
Our client is is the worldwide leader in tetherless, through-wall remote-controlled pipeline pressure isolation services. They minimize pipeline downtime through fast-track delivery of project-specific pigging, repair and handling tools, both onshore and offshore. They provid customers with products and services they need for pipeline maintenance and construction.

The Role:
Design and run calculations and FE analysis for various components and products in close collaboration with the mechanical design engineers to optimize our products, both existing and new developments.


Responsibilities:
Calculations and analysis of mechanical design (50%)
- Performs structural design and FE stress analysis of components and assemblies in accordance with the engineering procedures e.g. technical reviews, customers requirements and applicable codes,
- Involves in product design and development from idea stage to finished product,
- Perform local pipe stress calculations,
- Performs structural hand calculations and documentation for components and assemblies,
- Develops and maintains design reports according to applicable codes;

Mechanical design (20%)
- Designs products and solutions in accordance with the engineering procedures e.g. technical reviews, customers requirements and applicable codes, preparation and verification of schematics,
- Creates 3D design and production (2D) drawings using existing CAD tools,
- Issues and maintains specifications needed by Purchasing department to supply materials required for manufacturing of orders,
- Develops and maintains calculation notes according to applicable codes in coordination with Principal Engineer, follows-up of manufacturing and QC activities for products and engineered solutions;

Technology development & support (15%)
- Assists and/ or leads mechanical FEA calculations,
- Provides technical support, expertise and experience to internal customers (Sales, R&D, etc) as well as external customers (through delivery projects),
- Manages or participates in product standardization projects, engineered solutions projects and product design innovation projects,

Operational excellence (15%)
- Actively develops and maintains processes, routines, document templates, etc used in the calculation discipline to ensure efficiency and highest quality results,
- Assists in resolution of non conformities and take necessary actions,

Relationships with others
- Reports to the Sustainable Engineering Supervisor,
- At senior level, manages cross-operational teams as required and reviews other engineers work for approval.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in mechanical / structural engineering or experience in similar fields,
- Preferably minimum 3 years of relevant experience, but newly examined will also be considered,
- Highly skilled with Solid Works Simulation Premium, ANSYS, or similar FEM software,
- Experience in MathCAD or similar software,
- Ability to work in team and to take initiatives independently, stress resilient and able to multitask,
- Ability to work in an international environment,
- Good communication skills in English,
- A team player, with a positive attitude,
- Eager to learn and to share knowledge.
