The Company:
Our client is one of the largest providers of energy consultancy and engineering support services in the Uk. Within the nuclear sector they have an exceptional reputation for delivering innovative, cost-effective business and engineering solutions to owners, operators, regulators and suppliers to nuclear licensed sites.

The Role:
Target Start Date: 10-Mar-2014
Contract Duration: 6 months

Structural Engineer responsible for leading the structural engineering analysis and design work for building structures.

The main responsibilities will include:
Representing our client with their clients, attendance at design team meetings, and developing junior staff.
Developing and maintaining client relationships and contributing to the professional development program of the structural team.
Working on site as part of the design team.
Managing cost and time targets to deliver high quality to clients.
Potential to manage and develop a team of engineers.
Reviewing design work carried out by members of the team and also outside third parties
Assist in preparation of pre-qualification responses, proposals and tenders.
Assist in the preparation of fee proposals.
Ability to inspect works carried out on site and monitor quality and compliance with design drawings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The individual will have a strong commitment to team work and developing client relationship skills. Your expertise will include:
Accredited honours degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent qualification) and actively working towards Chartered status.
Highly motivated and a self starter with ability to work accurately within a consultative environment.
Team player, ideally used to working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
Competent in using Microsoft’s EXCEL and WORD is essential and familiarity with AutoCAD, FE analysis software, NBS, TEDDS, Building Designer and Robot would be an advantage.
Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Specification and report writing skills.
Knowledge of Construction, Health and Safety Regulations, Building Regulations, and contract law.
Commercially aware with a flexible attitude to both the type of work to be undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted.
