The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
Reporting to: Production Support Manager
Liaises with: Other Project Personnel/ Production
Directs: Subcontract Personnel and Personnel

Function:
The Discipline Field Engineer controls engineering within his/her discipline inclusive of subcontract management and mechanical completions.

Responsibilities:
• To ensure adherence to Company Policy and procedures
• To perform tasks delegated by the Production Support Manager
• To perform tasks which may be requested by Management, from time to time
• To liaise with Client concerning his discipline
• To stimulate personnel in quality, safety and environmental awareness thinking by facilitating training where appropriate
• To ensure correct implementation of the company quality, safety and environmental policy within the company and verify the company quality, safety and environmental procedures are followed
• To ensure procedures are maintained during the project
• To identify and report problems to the Production Support Manager and recommend possible solutions for such problems
• To attend meetings relating to his discipline and maintain liaison with the various disciplines
• To liaise with other disciplines specialists to ensure that a fully details design is achieved
• To control engineering within his discipline i.e. drawing control and approval, interdiscipline checks and document distribution
• To control and monitor Subcontractors within his discipline
• To monitor the Subcontractors progress and inform the Project Manager/ Head of Planning
• To forward and action Site Instructions
• To instruct the Subcontractor, via the Project Manager, concerning design changes/ requests
• Raise and answer Site Queries where relevant
• To monitor Discipline Progress and inform Project Manager/ Planning Department
• To witness checks by the Subcontractor where appropriate
• To verify system work packs against detailed plans and schedules
• To assist in the preparation of mechanical completion plans where appropriate
• To organise Vendor assistance where appropriate
• Identify and highlight any further training requirements of their personnel
• To review and approve final system handover documentation packages before forwarding to QC Department
• To ensure that activities are performed under safe conditions
• To perform Safety Intervention Discussions (SIDs) providing that training has been completed
• To perform KPI inspections with on-site subcontractors where appropriate
• Individual risk awareness within job role
• Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety)
• Contributions to project approach on final construction & breakdown
• To deliver input to subcontracted documentation to define scope of work and quality aspects required of the subcontractor
• To punch out completed works and co-ordinate close out
• Contributes to new / procedures and improves existing methods, systems and procedures

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Competency:
• Successful SHE Induction
• Materials Science Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Materials Science Engineering or equivalent
• 3 years engineering experience in the construction industry
• Planning & Organisation skills that enable the implementation of their duties and the company strategy
• Communicate in a positive manner with all staff and departmental manager
• An understanding of company Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental system & programmes
