Structural Field Engineer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Support all HES Activities / Initiatives
•Observe for unsafe acts / unsafe conditions and raise observation cards.
•Participate in Behavioral Based Safety (BBS).
•Fully support and participate in all Injury and Incident Free (IIF) initiatives through reaching out and communicating with Contractors Staff and trades personnel.
•Remain knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures as well as performs assigned duties in a safe manner while managing others, has responsibility for their safety and ensures that they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.
•Understand KPI targets and monitor progress and have a perspective towards the contractor focus on meeting targets.
•Compliance with Ethics policies.
•Adhere to Project Execution Procedures.
•Assist the Fabrication Site Management Team and fabrication contractors with the accurate interpretation of Issued for Construction structural steel and related documents.
•Review and respond to contractor inquiries (RFI’s) concerning the structure of the PAR’s.
•Review and respond to field technical queries, preparing, submitting and follow-up of RFIs, as necessary. Identifies and elevates potential changes in contract scope.
•Participates in change management by providing technical input and support to Project Controls and Contracts groups. This support may include written technical description, sketches, calculations, bill of materials, etc.
•Support Quality Group to confirm that the fabricators have satisfied all technical requirements for the scope of supply.
•Review results of Global Dimensional Control data pertaining to the PAR’s structural assemblies.
•The Structural Field Engineer will inform the Engineering Manager of all resolutions and responses. Should the Structural Field Engineer reach a determination that an issue or query needs home office engineering review or support, he will confer with the Engineering Manager to reach a joint conclusion, prior to forwarding the issue or field design change recommendation on the a home office location. Every effort shall be made to provide responses at site in Kazakhstan to mitigate any potential delays.
•Ensure fabrication Contractor complies with agreed build methods inclusive of single weld hook up (SWHU) methodology, lifting procedures and method statements for the most expedient approach.
•Develop excellent working relationships with Company and Contractors teams assisting Fabrication Contractor in all his endeavours and objectives observing quality codes and standards.
•Maintain high standards of attitude and behaviour throughout the site and offsite acting as a role model for younger members of staff and local employees.
•Ensure work is in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost control estimates.
•Active participation in mechanical completion.
