The Role:
POSITION OBJECTIVE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To insure Technical assurance and quality of work for field installation of structural steel and piping and to review documentation for compliance. As a member of the site team, the Structural Inspector will foster and maintain the team approach and take an active role in the health, safety and welfare of all. All members of the Site Team are expected to be champions of the IIF culture.

MAIN TASKS AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

•Demonstrate by setting the example for all personnel that Safety and Quality are core values;
•Inspect and witness the installation on structural steel to ensure the engineering design and code standards are met;
•Provide technical assurance of quality and ensure that all code and procedure requirements are met, and ensure proper documentation is maintained;
•Assist and Instruct in technical matters involving procedure and specification requirements in daily activities;
•Maintain a daily log of issues and recommend resolutions;
•Provide feedback of activities in the field to enhance continual improvement and avoid rework and non-conformances;
•Review subcontractor’s documentation to ensure accurate records are kept and retrievable;
•No Safety related incidents or LTI’s for the QA/QC dept;
•Insure work processes are in full compliance with codes & specifications;
•Feed back for prevention of non-compliances in a timely manner.;
•All reports are complete, accurate & timely.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•High School diploma or GED, or company approved equivalent
•Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent training program.
•Minimum of 5 years in the erection and rigging of Structural Steel and related activities;
•Experience in the rigging, erection and alignment of structural steel. Candidates shall be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the code requirements of installation and alignment methods, with a working knowledge of procedure requirements and apply the acceptance standards to the work.
•NACE or BGAS qualified
•Minimum of 5 years in the erection and rigging of Structural Steel and related activities.
•Comprehensive knowledge on structural specifications and codes.
•Minimum of 5-10 years in structural inspection fabrication / installation.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Experience in Chinese fabrication yards
•Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese
