The Role:
Position within UK Facilities Engineering Team, will provide subject matter Technical directive and guidance across all departments on matters concerning Structural engineering design and integrity. Primary purpose is to safeguard the technical integrity assurance of the company for all business delivered from Aberdeen based Operation.
The position will involve a range of work scopes from new projects, Structural integrity, ALE,minor modifications and Decommisioning of platforms. A key function of the role will be management of the companies Structural Integrity Management plan and provision of technical integrity assurance as part of ongoing Asset life Extension commitments.
Principal Accountabilities;
Provide Structural Technical Authority function in operations on all assets.
Provide Structural Technical Authority function in assuring projects.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate and business best practices relevant to discipline
Support development to deliver the engineering concept from field development plans into project specifications.
Liase with the independent verification body (IVB) and the UK HSE (offshore division) on issues related to structural integrity.
Structural Management for Asset Life (ALE)
Support operated assests projects in the specification of structural components or systems and the management of any specialist contractors.
Support project teams during project execution with discipline reviews, audits etc.
Participate in maintain a set of corporate standards and guidelines to provide a basis for assuring the technical quality of deliverables.
Support developments in evaluation of potential acquisitions and new ventures.
Supporting the Asset teams in the provision of advice in enhancing operating practice performing/coordinating troubleshooting, studies etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Offshore Oil & Gas experience
Extensive engineering and maintenance experience of structural systems and components in an upstream oil production environment.
Technical Authority experience of a client/operator environment and knowledge of the safety environmental and operational aspects of their work.
Experience of engineering contractor processes, procedures, estimating methods and delivery processes.
Knowledge and experience of project implementation methodology and decision making processes
Safety/environmental awareness - understanding of legislative requirements.
Experience in enacting risk based inspections, Brownfield modification works (analysis, design, fabrication and offshore construction related activities) fabric maintenance, subsea IBM, field life extension and management of age related deterioration of offshore structures.

Related BSC/MEng degree
Appropriate Chartered Engineeering Status.
Willingness to travel offshore of ad-hoc platform visits.
