The Company:
A leading independant Operator within Oil and Gas who operate in Asia, Middle East and the North Sea.

The Role:
Provide technical support in the delivery of the project FPSO. Focusing on the Subsea Design (~50%), but also providing support to other aspects of the FPSO design (~50%). Drive an inherently safe facilities design and oversee Technical Safety Engineering of Subsea & FPSO Facilities (HAZID, HAZOP, Dropped Object Protection, API RP 17N etc.). Contribute to preparation and acceptance of the Safety Case in accordance with design scope, approved budget and within schedule.

Key Accountabilities:

• Providing project facilities technical safety discipline oversight
• Facilitating input and liaison with Production Operations Representative regarding safety of operations, maintenance and repair
• Facilitating input and liaison with all engineering disciplines to ensure current facilities related legislation and good practice are identified and implemented
• Quality of PFEER studies, Hazops, Hazids, etc.
• Implementing all applicable project management processes and tools
• Reporting project progress and issues
• Contract and Technical management of applicable suppliers, vendors and contractors
• Implementing Change and Decision Management
• Implementing Technical Safety requirements
• Providing input to Risk Management process and managing relevant mitigation strategies
• Managing technical interfaces with other disciplines and Operations
• Liaise with and manage any HSE, IVB, and Classification Society requirements
• Assist in the preparation and assimilation of data and expertise to enable the Corporate Project Safety Review (PSR) process to be undertaken by the Technical Safety Technical Authority

Major Challenges:

• Evaluating the FEED deliverables to confirm the design intent has been met and that the risks have been reduced to ALARP.
• Drive the environmental design of the facilities to ensure emissions and discharges are ALARP
• Ensure any use of pre-existing system, particularly marine systems, meet offshore production availability, reliability and performance requirements and may be safely maintained and tested.

Financial Accountabilities:

• Drive and oversee preparation and acceptance of the Subsea & FPSO Technical HSE deliverables

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Higher Qualification in an Engineering Discipline and preferably Chartered Status
10 years + working on offshore UKCS projects and operations in a technical safety engineering capacity, particularly with new or conversion FPSOs
5 years + working in detailed design capacity for offshore UKCS Installations

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Delivery focussed, Safety conscious, Ethical, Driving continuous improvement
Leadership/supervisory and Communications skills
