The Company:
One of the largest oil companies in the world with projects across all major oil sites.

The Role:
The Subsea Commissioning Manager is responsible for managing the pre-commissioning, commissioning of the subsea system including export and infield pipelines. The Subsea Commissioning Manager is also responsible for managing the System Handover Management Process to handover the subsea system and pipelines to Operations.

• Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations.
• Build and lead a high performance team to facilitate successful delivery of the offshore execution
• Provide direction, motivation and leadership to both internal staff and external contractors
• Responsible for ensuring contractors and vendors deliver a competent organisation and a high standard of resources to successfully execute the work
• Responsible for managing contractor project execution performance and scope delivery
• Manage the plan and facilities for in-country mobilisation
• Maintain awareness and promote conformance to GPO expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the construction team and the contractors.
• Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the GPO, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management and Management of Change
• Maintain close contact with the Clients Commissioning Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to project and implemented as appropriate
• Responsible for ensuring project lessons learned are captured and shared with the GPO

• Manage the subsea commissioning contractor selection process including final tender clarifications and recommendation for award
• Develop an execution plan for the subsea pre-commissioning and commissioning scope incorporating personnel, vessel and equipment requirements
• Manage the implementation of the execution plan ensuring contingency strategies are in place to take account of vessel and equipment availability
• Manage the linkage with the Project Commissioning Manager and other ProjectCommissioning Teams
• Own and manage the subsea system status record including internal contents testing & valve status
• Liaise closely with the M&SS PMs, Construction Manager, Subsea & Engineering Manager to ensure a close relationship is maintained with the Installation & EPMS contractors, vendors and suppliers to assure compliance with the execution plan
• Manage the engineering and procedure development to assure timely delivery of approved procedures for mobilisation and offshore execution
• Ensure the Project commissioning scope is managed in accordance with Client’s Q&HSE expectations
• Own and manage the commissioning execution schedule including daily management of the commissioning activities
• Provide input and supports the offshore integrated schedule and synergies across delivery groups
• Manage the commissioning costs and own the budget
• Work closely with the Project start-up team to support development of the start-up execution plan
• Manage the System Handover Management process to ensure successful handover of the subsea system and pipelines to operations
• Ensure internal best commissioning practices are in place and maintained
• Maintain close contact with the Client Commissioning Management network to ensure the relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to Project

• Exhibits understanding of client construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality
• Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects
• Ability to intervene in in critical situations in order to redirect construction focus and achieve the required result
• A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills
• Financial and commercial awareness.
• Self-motivated & Computer literate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree and professional status accreditation with a recognised institution
• A minimum of 10years experience in the management of subsea pre-commissioning and commissioning to include subsea manifolds, xmas trees, umbilicals, control systems and pipelines.
• A deep understanding of subsea hardware and operation
• Proven capability of building and leading successful teams
• Experience with site construction activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues.
