The Company:
Our client has been engaged in the exploration and production of natural gas in the Netherlands and the North Sea Continental Shelf since 1964. In the Dutch sector of the North Sea, gas is produced from 22 platforms and 3 subsea production installations. Most of the platforms are unmanned and remotely operated; four have gas treatment facilities.

The Role:
The service holder is responsible, within the SURF team and under Riser Lead responsibility, for all the activities related to the engineering and qualification of Riser subsea connectors and latching systems, and represents the Company focal point for these components. The service holder organises, supervises, controls and coordinates the technical works relative to the discipline as well as technical works and studies performed by the various SURF contractors whom he is the contact point.

The following components are part of the service holder scope :
- FPSO Bend stiffener diverless latching system
- Upper Riser Assembly Bend stiffener diverless latching system
- Upper Riser Assembly subsea connector system
- Lower Riser Assembly subsea connector system

The service holder shall ensure that all the necessary deliverables are timely issued by Contractor, and reviewed by Company.
The service holder shall also ensure that all engineering interfaces related to these components are dully dealt with and managed with other concerned packages/systems (FPSO, Upper and lower riser assemblies, Flowline End Termination).
The service holder is responsible for validating the equipment qualification status (procedure / programme / report) and shall remain, during the fabrication, construction, installation and pre-commissioning phases, the technical support for any engineering occurring problem, for any advice to be given or technical deviation request to be analysed and answered.
The service holder shall work in close collaboration with the construction and installation team and particularly with tie-in & pre-commissioning leader to ensure that all construction and operational constraints are properly accounted for in the design and qualification of these components.
The service holder shall, in the performance of these responsibilities, contribute to maximise the NPV value of the project by finding means to increase quality and productivity and/or decrease investments thanks to the best technical definition of these components and its associated installation.
The service holder reports to the SURF Riser Lead.
The service holder is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regard to H3SE rules & requirements and for implementing H3SE rules within his area of responsibility.

- To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to H3SE and to implement H3SE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
- To have knowledge of Risers engineering-related Company Rules and Specifications (CR’s/GS’s), international norms and standards, for right application to the Project.
- To have also knowledge of all Contractual and Technical requirements expressed in Contract(s) for the right management of SURF Contractor(s)
- To supervise and control the detailed engineering of the subsea connectors and latching systems by timely reviewing / validating the documentation issued by Contractor(s) (technical documentation / queries / derogation requests...), in compliance with SOR, the company's General Specifications, Project Contractual technical requirements, and international norms and standards, with the objective to ensure respect of schedule, costs, quality and safety.
- Raise consequently necessary comments and highlight unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, constructability issues...
- Ensures daily liaison with Contractor(s) with regards to relevant technical matters.
- Ensures follow-up / review / validation of progress performed by Contractor(s) wrt his discipline and analyses/reports drifts that could occur and propose remedial solution.
- To ensure that QHSE issues and requirements are correctly handled and met in all the components technical documents.
- To interface actively with other discipline engineers (Umbilicals Lead / Flowlines Lead / Procurement engineer / Installation Lead & Tie-in/pre-com Lead) and other package engineers as necessary on all engineering, procurement, constructability, commissioning, operability and maintainability matters, in order to ensure consistency of the work.
- To liaise, in close collaboration with SURF Interface Engineer, with the other Package Engineers (FPSO) for the management of interfaces related to the FPSO latching system.
- To review and comment the proposed qualification and test programmes (test protocols, implementation of results), and to analyse results, deciding on any changes or complement in the program. (Day-to-day follow-up of qualifications and tests is performed as part of the Qualification and Testing engineer activity.)
- To assist Company Representatives at fabrication sites and participate to the resolution of any related-discipline problem occurring during the Execution Phase, to advice on technical deviation requests and to keep updated the documentation related to his discipline.
- To give technical support during the installation, tests, commissioning and handover phases, the Installation tie-in/pre-com leader for any engineering occurring problem
- To ensure that safe working practices are used within the team along all phases of project
- To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the SURF Riser Lead (progress, concerns), and, as a general manner, anticipates problems, optimizes, improves, offers solutions with regards to his discipline.
- To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Professional Experience (years): 5-10
- Experience in similar position (years): +/- 3 with subsea engineering experience
- Level / Diploma: Engineer or equivalent
- Languages: English mandatory
