The Role:
Main Function

Reporting to the Eno Project Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer, the Subsea Controls Engineer/Inspector will provide subsea controls design construction/testing/commissioning oversight to assure that the Subsea Controls Contractor carries out his work as required. He will also assist the Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer in providing instrumentation and controls input to the main EPIC contractor and in managing the interface between the main EPIC and the Subsea Controls Contractor. It is expected that equipment inspection and witness testing will be a substantial part of the job; and, that the Subsea Controls Engineer/Inspector will be required to travel 25% of the time between Aberdeen, Wick, Sutton (London) and Offshore.

General Responsibility

a single well subsea tie-back to the existing a subsea production manifold. Production is commingled at the Callanish subsea production manifold and sent for processing to the Bridge Linked Platform (BLP). The subsea controls for will be fully integrated with. Reporting to the Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer, the Subsea Controls Engineer/Inspector will work with the contractor to provide COMPANY oversight and package engineering management to assure that the subsea control system is:

• Fully functional to the specifications and control philosophy;
• Delivered to the project on schedule and within the approved budget;
• Meets project and regulatory requirements for safety and environmental stewardship

The Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer, to whom this position reports, is responsible for the overall integration of all the controls and instrumentation including the topside integration with Bridge Linked Platform, Metering, Virtual Metering, PIMS and safety systems. The Subsea Controls Engineer/Inspector will work closely with the Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer to assure the detail of the subsea controls component of the overall system. This work will include, but not necessarily be limited to:-

• Monitoring of the Subsea Controls Contractor detail design and construction work
• Monitoring of the design, procurement, testing and commissioning of the umbilical cores in the subsea pipeline bundle and its tie-ins
• All subsea controls tie-ins
• Witnessing of Subsea Controls Contractor FAT/FIT/SAT/SIT
• Provide quality coordination to the Quality Manager as required
• Assistance with overall system commissioning offshore
• Provide Company representation on any controls related offshore surveys
• During the execution of the work bring to the attention of the Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer any non-conformances or potential variation orders for discussion and action.
• Ensure that all subsea controls manufacturing and installation work is executed in an entirely safe manner [without loss or injury] and in accordance with the project HSE management plan and Company corporate HSE policy
• Lead by example in promoting safety, quality and environmental philosophies
• Maintain a high level of cognizance with regards budget / spend and delivery schedule
• Ensure that all technical documents, drawings, letters, emails, transmittals MOM’s, reports etc are communicated / transmitted via and in accordance with project approved document management and control systems / processes
• Attend and provide input to regular progress meetings as required by the Engineering Manager and/or Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer
• Provide timely inputs to regular reporting requirements
• Maintain a high level of cognizance with regards risk and make recommendations for risk management and mitigation to the Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer
• Ensure that all contractor drawings, method statements and procedures conform with requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in subsea controls system engineering, design, inspection
• Familiar with QA/QC requirements during manufacturing/fabrication of subsea control systems
• Familiar with the full suite of subsea control function testing and system integration testing
• Good communications skills, both written and verbal, in the English language.
• Current offshore survival certificates and medical certificate
• Effective at working in small highly effective project team
• Willing to commit to the project through closeout
• Familiar with subsea control module installation generally
• Willingness to travel to Wick, London (Sutton) and offshore
• Willingness to go offshore during installation and commissioning
