The Company:
A global upstream oil and gas company

The Role:
This major North Sea project will run over a number of years and involves multi-well subsea development.
The role will support the Lead Controls Engineer in delivering the system ‘package’ including both subsea and topside infrastructure. The SCS Engineer will have a high focus on technical design compliance and quality assurance. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable ability to work proactively with others, both internally and externally. The SCS Engineer will also support interface management relating to controls.


Promotion of safe and environmentally sound working practices within area of responsibility
Check compliance with project-specific design and functional requirements and company standards
Support the Lead SCS Engineer in managing the scope of supply, including SCS Contractor
Provide support to the development and maintenance of Cause and Effects schedule, HAZOP processes and development of P&IDs and E&I/Chemical/FO schematics
Support interfaces with other disciplines & teams and expedite timely closeout of such interfaces and technical queries
Provide technical comment responses to contractor documentation
Communicate effectively with the subsea and overall project team
Provide status and progress reports to Lead SCS Engineer and Project Manager as required
Understand technical risks and develop mitigation plans
Maintain formal records relating to technical queries, concession requests, interfaces, change management and variation control

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering qualification (degree or equivalent)
Work experience in the UK oil & gas industry
Thorough technical knowledge of subsea control systems, including fibre optic systems.
A design/engineering bias, rather than after-market/service support is essential.
