The Company:
Large Operator

The Role:
•Proactively evaluate intervention systems, both riser-based and riser-less, and catalog applications and limitations. Constantly engaged with subsea intervention trends and new technology.
•Research subsea tree system interfaces to determine the safest and most efficient way of accessing the well. Identify long lead hardware required based on the wellbore access method(s) available. Present purchasing proposal to the Intervention Engineering Team Lead for sourcing. Develop equipment management and maintenance plans as needed.
•Work with the Subsea Control Module (SCM) manufacture(s) to ensure topside hardware and software is available when an intervention requires direct communication with the SCM from the intervention vessel.
•Develop plans for delivering hydraulics to the subsea tree and intervention system. Work as the system integrator by conducting/reviewing control system FMECAs and risk assessments.
•Use a risk based approach when planning intervention system deployment. Facilitate the review of all barriers during normal operations and emergencies. Document and close out all risk mitigations prior to execution.
•Actively participate in the API committee 17G, Subsea Intervention Systems
•Proactively engage regulatory agencies when planning a subsea intervention. Discuss well access plans and barriers with regulatory agencies ahead of APM submittal (GOM).
•Represent company during System Integration Testing (SIT) and equipment mobilization. Verify all equipment, including safety systems, are integrity tested and operating as designed prior to mobilizing offshore.
•Provide onshore engineering support through planning and execution. This includes risk assessments, intervention system deployment procedures and contingency planning and procedures. Ensure the intervention system deployment procedure is followed through as planned, and the MOC process is used when applicable. Conduct after action reviews with key equipment suppliers to capture learning’s and improve subsequent interventions.
•When required, the Subsea Intervention Engineer must be capable of supporting operations in the field
•Mechanically inclined
•Strong knowledge of materials, and strength of materials, commonly used in the offshore oil and gas industry
•Applied knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is required. Must be capable of reading, interpreting and troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical schematics
•Strong safety and operational performance focus
•Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
5-10 years planning and executing subsea interventions and workovers
An basic understanding of subsea well construction (drilling and completion) is required
Open Water intervention with focus on a focus on hardware and controls (riser-based, riser-less)
Offshore operations experience is a must
Offshore credentials are a plus (HUET, TWIC, SafeGulf)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
B.S. in an engineering field is required. Preferably mechanical engineering.
