The Role:
• Performing Engineer’s role on products and general engineering issues, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and meet statutory requirements.
• Specification, release for purchasing / build and test, checking / approval, progress reports.
• Compliance with company procedures, statutory regulations and project specifications while, while keeping to standard approach (existing designs where possible) and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Bid concept design, technical write-ups, material and manpower estimates.
• Provide Technical support to manufacturing.
• Maintain and improve knowledge of industry and company.
• Monitor the company’s engineering processes, procedures and advise on improvements.
• Degree or HNC/HND plus relevant industry experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Windows, Excel).
• Working knowledge of MathCAD or similar analysis package.
• Working knowledge of SAP, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Proven involvement with multi-disciplined Projects.
• Proven knowledge of instrumentation in Subsea Control Systems.
• Familiarity with Xmas Tree functionality.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and statutory regulations:
• ISO 13628-4 / 6, API 6A/ISO 10423 PSL 3, API 17D, EEMUA 194
• Norsok: e.g. U-001, M-001, M-501, M-503, M-601, M-630, M-650, M-710
• DnV Recommended Practices, e.g. DNV-RP-F112, DNV-OS-F101
• ASME IX, EN 15614, EN -287-1
• Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
• Familiarity with subsea metallurgy, material production / forging, material testing, e.g. tensile, impact, hardness, metallography, corrosion.
• Knowledge of subsea practices: painting/coating - epoxy, Xylan, cathodic protection, non-metallic seals, subsea electrical connections and jumpers.
• Understanding:
• NDT - MT, PT, RT, VT, UT, etc.
• NDT Operator Qualification, e.g. PCN, EN 473, ASNT, etc.
• Positive Material Identification (PMI)
• Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC)
• Hydrogen Induced Stress Cracking (HISC) - especially in duplex steels
• Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) interfaces
• Analogue (4-20mA) and digital (ModBUS RS-485, CanBUS, SIIS, etc.) communications
• Pressure containment calculations/stress analysis and testing.
