The Role:
Performing Engineer's role on products and general engineering issues, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and meet statutory requirements with particular focus on subsea electrical and hydraulic distribution equipment. This includes both the flexible distribution components and the fixed equipment and structures.

Creation, review and approval of product specifications against client, company and industry requirements and standards.

Carry out and review mechanical and hydraulic design verification calculations and prepare calculation packages for external review.

Review and input into SPS system level requirements at bid, conceptual design and detailed design stages.

Technical management of specification, vendor procurement and supply verification tasks including document review and approval.

Estimation of task duration, completion and management of own level of effort and completion dates. This includes responsibility for reporting against target dates and current task status.

Provision of technical support to production, supply chain, quality and service groups.

Assist with the development of, work to and promote the standardisation of equipment, documentation and process within your product group.

Maintain and improve knowledge of the applicable industry standards (Norwegian, US and EU/international), industry best practices, company and relevant technical areas.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to manage and prioritise tasks across differing projects.

Ability to communicate directly and on a personal level with other parts of the company, clients and suppliers.

Good interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt depending on situation and audience.

Experience working within multi-discipline engineering groups and projects.

Relevant degree or HNC/HND with applicable industry experience.

Good working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications

Familiarity with SAP and/or other similar structured ERP workflow and document control system.

Working knowledge of MathCAD or similar type calculation packages would be an advantage.

Familiarity with electrical, electronic, and data interfaces for instrumentation and general process control systems.

Knowledge of material and coating selection relevant to the subsea and oilfield environments.

Familiarity with relevant international standards and statutory regulations.
