The Role:
Member of the Subsea Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE), which provides technical expertise to the Upstream Major Capital Projects and Base Business organizations. CoE employees fill various positions, including research and development, short term consulting/problem solving, with potential for long term secondment to Major Capital Projects or Strategic Business Units. Typical roles may include project scoping, concept selection, FEED and detailed design, fabrication, installation and/or operation of subsea facilities.

Leadership:

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and direct the efforts of others to achieve exceptional performance standards.

Initiative:

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, be self-directing, and exhibit due diligence in pursuit of objectives.

Project Management:

Experienced in project controls, including effective work planning, risk assessment, contingency plans, contract management, and demonstrated business acumen.

Teamwork:

Strong communicator, who excels at building relationships with customers, contractors and colleagues.

Technical:

The Subsea Pipeline Engineer will provide design support, design verification, pipeline operation and integrity management services for Company projects worldwide. This position will be located in Aberdeen office reporting to the Aberdeen Subsea Team Lead. The responsibilities include:
Supporting pipeline design through screening of design alternatives, verification of pipeline designs, assessment of technical capabilities of contractors.
Supporting the development deployable pipeline technologies through working on Company Technical Development and Strategic Research programmes, participating in industry technical advancement of the pipeline transportation field and integrating Company technical knowledge from different projects to support continuous improvement.
Engaging with the MCPs and Business Units to provide subsea pipeline operational advice and support including development of integrity management and pigging programmes, performing anomaly analysis and developing mitigation and remediation plans.
This position requires extensive pipeline knowledge at all stages of the design lifecycle from initial concept development through to decommissioning and abandonment. This position also requires well-balanced interpersonal skills, strong pipelines knowledge and a strong customer focus. Experience requirements include at least 10-15 years in offshore pipelines related work. This experience requires knowledge of pipelines codes and several programs used for pipelines design such as Offpipe, Orcaflex, Abaqus, Excel, MathCad, CAESAR.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of subsea pipeline design and operational.
