The Role:
Support the Lead Pipeline Engineer in delivering the detailed design of the pipeline systems being performed, with emphasis on providing technical assurance of the engineering contractor.
1.Assurance review of flowline & export pipelines design documents including reports, studies, drawings, specifications and datasheets etc to ensure they meet project requirements and comply with applicable ETPs and international codes and standards and subsea and export pipelines basis of design.
2.Lead specific pipeline and flowline design issues as they arise. Ensure the timely closure of outstanding engineering issues including buckling and walking design, other mechanical design issues, DEH flowline integrity risks and geohazards.
3.Lead the detailed design of the buckling and walking schemes for the flowlines and export pipelines.
4.Assurance review of flowline & export pipelines technical packages for pipelines related procurement and contracts including pipelay, coating, diving and DBA to ensure they meet project requirements and comply with applicable ETPs and international codes and standards and subsea and export pipelines basis of design.
5.Package engineer for the pipeline and flowline coating contract.
6.Support the review of engineering deviations and clarifications.
7.Ensure the management of engineering design changes.
8.Support engineering document and progress schedule reviews as required.
9.Support other engineering activities as directed by Lead Pipeline Engineer including risk assessments, HAZOPs, integrity management and repair strategies, collection of pipeline lessons and experiences to/from group.
10.Ensure pipeline risks are identified and managed effectively for this workscope.
11.Actively seek out and learn from experience in the group. Maintain links with relevant discipline SETAs and ensure effective transfer of lessons to and from the group.
12.Assist in the development of younger engineers in the team by providing technical coaching, delegating work and actively supporting delivery of parts of this workscope through them.
13.Ensure the Lead Pipeline Engineer is kept fully appraised of key issues.
14.Promote safety & environmental responsibility in all aspects of pipeline design.
15.Promote strong HSE performance and uphold the code of conduct.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Chartered Mechanical Engineer
•Experienced in all areas identified in the job description

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Technically very capable engineer
•Quick learner, self-starter, team player, prepared to delegate and coach junior staff
