The Role:
This post sits within a project team responsible for the management and delivery of the Project in the UKCS. This Project forms the first stage in the expansion of the development network for the Company and is therefore of high strategic importance.

The Subsea Pipeline Engineer will assist the Lead Subsea Pipeline Engineer in the management of all engineering aspects related to the SURF package including but not limited to the engineering of the 17 km 16”, 6” and 2” lines with associated structures (FLETs), connecting spools. They will have to cope with technical aspect of this package, prioritise the various works, deal with interface team to capture constraints on interface with other package (SPS and SGP), prepare contractual documents related to SURF contract, assist the lead engineer during technical clarification, interface with the SURF team and report to the Lead Subsea Pipeline Engineer on regular basis to capture main difficulties with proposed way forward.

•Control and approve, when appropriate, the specifications, requisitions, design procedures, layouts, arrangements and cause & effect charts provided by the basic engineering contractor.
•Obtain validation of the basic engineering design.
•Work on engineering on pipeline and equipment/facilities to be included in the SURF work package.
•Demonstrate commitment to SHE through Personal Safety Performance Contract
•Develop/assit lead engineer for the development of the technical Scope of work (exhibit A &E) to be included in the SURF contract, LLIs orders and pipeline POs.
•Manage/assist lead engineer and contract manager for the management pre-contract award clarifications and technical evaluations/recommendation.
•Assist, manage and organise with contract team the SURF contract build-up and LLI orders.
•Assist and manage with contract team Contractual & Commercial Negotiations during the Tender phase
•Pro-actively liaise with Technology, Drilling, Operations, Contractor, Sub-Contractors, Vendors and certifying agency teams on all aspects of the project.
•Liaise with interface team and actively contribute to the resolution of interfaces
•Prepare and present Technical dossiers
•Ensure that procedures and rules are developed and applied in accordance with the selected company referential.
•Ensure deliverables will meet Quality Requirements and adequate Quality Surveillance is implemented.
•Prepare authorities applications for authorisations and consents.
•Positively represent the Company at Contractor premises, sites when required.
•Develop effective and constructive relationships with contractor representatives in a manner that enables a high level of value to be obtained.
•Report to Edradour Pipeline lead engineer and inform of any potential problems in a pro-active manner.
•Continually seek learning opportunities to further their technical capability and openly share knowledge with other team members.
•Attend meetings held at the offices of the Project in Aberdeen and basic engineering contractor premises as required.
•Safely deliver the facilities on time and within budget.


•Ensure budget and cost management against time/quality/ budget/client satisfaction and safety
•Ensure multi-discipline technical aspects are managed competently, minimising cost and optimising company/contractor labour force, while ensuring safety and environmental issues are paramount
•Ensure appropriate channel of communication is maintained with management at all levels to ensure operational difficulties are focused on by the relevant expert and that problems are anticipated early and are solved in a timely manner.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Good knowledge of oil and gas pipeline & umbilical design, construction and operation ideally gained from working in the North Sea
•Good communication skills and the ability to represent the Company both internally and externally at all levels
•Specific area of knowledge requested :
oPipeline design codes
oSubsea umbilical mechanical design
oMarine operations with umbilical and pipelay barges, diving support vessels
oDiving and Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) activities
oGovernment regulations for notifications, authorisations, permitting and consents required for offshore operations
•Knowledge of Company, Group and statutory policies and procedures in relation to engineering, technology and project management
•Significant engineering experience (raising / reviewing procedures, specifications, technical reports, and management of engineering personnel).
