The Role:
The service holder is responsible, within the Engineering team, for the Welding and Materials discipline and acts as the Project technical authority for this discipline.
As such, the service holder shall ensure that all deliverables pertaining to Welding and Materials (including insulation/anti-corrosion coatings...) are timely issued and fit for purpose.
The service holder shall ensure that all activities with regards to engineering, supply, manufacture and construction of SPS equipment, associated raw materials (block forgings, CRA piping...) and structures duly comply with Welding and Material requirements.
The service holder will then actively follow-up, supervise and control all engineering, supply, manufacture and construction works (methods, procedures, tests, qualifications...) performed by the various SPS contractors, subcontractors and vendors. He will be the contact point for all issues related to Welding and Material discipline towards the SPS main contractor.
During the Execution phase, the service holder shall be the correspondent towards Client Headquarter specialists, with regards to welding and material matters, for any occurring problem, for any advice to be given or technical deviation or derogation request.
The service holder reports to the SPS Engineering Leader.
The service holder is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regards to HSE rules & requirements and for implementing HSE rules within his area of responsibility.

1. To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regards to HSE and to implement HSE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
2. To be informed of Welding and Material related Company Rules and Specifications (CR’s/GS’s), international norms and standards, taking knowledge from them for application to the Project.
3. To supervise and control the detailed engineering as well as the construction engineering (including qualification and testing methods) as established by Contractor(s), by timely reviewing / validating the documentation issued (technical documentation / queries / derogation requests...) with regards to Welding and Material issues, in compliance with Project specifications and procedures, Client General Specifications, international norms and standards, with the objective to ensure respect of the schedule and to optimise costs without impacting the required level of Quality and Safety.
To make necessary comments and highlight deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, constructability issues...
4. To ensure daily liaison with Contractor(s) with regards to Welding and Material matters. To ensure follow-up / review / validation of progress performed by Contractor(s) with regards to his discipline and analyse/report drifts that could occur and propose remedial solution.
5. To interface actively with other discipline engineers (Xmas trees Lead / manifold Lead / control system Lead), and other package engineers (Interface Leader, Fabrication Leader, Qualification, Testing, Installation & Startup Leader) as necessary on Welding and Material issues, in order to ensure consistency of the work.
6. To follow and control the procurement and fabrication performed by the contractor and by its subcontractors for the aspects of construction method, welding and NDT; to define the QA/QC and inspection programmes in coordination with the QA/QC Leader; to organise the inspections at the various locations.
7. To participate in regular construction meetings with vendors and contractors including for the activities related to the construction on the contractor’s yard if any.
8. To participate to project reviews as requested by Client's referential (HAZOP, HAZID, SPOT, ODR, PTR...).
9. To assist Company Representatives at fabrication sites and participate to the resolution of any related-discipline problem occurring during the Execution Phase, to advice on technical deviation requests and to keep updated the documentation related to his discipline.
10. To participate in the installation, tests, commissioning and handover, assisting the Installation Leader during all the Offshore phases of the works.
11. To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the Engineering Leader (progress, concerns), and, as a general manner, anticipate problems, optimize, improve, offer solutions with regards to his discipline.
12. To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)

The work will probably be distributed in various places in Europe, USA, Asia and Angola necessitating mobility.
The local content part of the work will be a key factor of the success for this project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Professional Experience (years): 10-20
Experience in similar position (years): min 5 with sound Welding and Material discipline experience.
Level / Diploma: Engineer, or equivalent
Languages: English mandatory
