The Role:
To support Project Manager and Project Team in the technical execution of the Basic Engineering, so as to ensure the project deliverables are in accordance with the Statement of Requirements, client SHE Management Procedures and Project Schedule. Role will evolve into detail engineering and construction once full project is sanctioned.

• Responsible for the technical aspects of the project with particular attention to the subsea production system design and installation during basic engineering.
• Demonstrate commitment to SHE through Personal Safety Performance Contract
• Pro-actively manage the basic engineering Scope of Work
• Pro-actively liaise with HQ Technology department, Vendors, Operations, Contractor, Sub-Contractors, on all aspects of the basic engineering
• Actively contribute to the resolution of interfaces
• Prepare and present Technical dossiers
• Control and approve, when appropriate, the specifications, requisitions, design procedures, layouts, and arrangements.
• Obtain validation of the design
• Assist with preparation of authorities applications for authorisations and consents
• Positively represent the Company at Supplier premises, sites and on vessels if appropriate,
• Develop effective and constructive relationships with Supplier representatives in a manner that enables a high level of value to be obtained
• Report and inform of any potential problems in a pro-active manner
• Continually seek learning opportunities to further their technical capability and openly share knowledge with other team members
• Be prepared to accept delegation of authority from the Project Manager.


• Budget and cost management against time/quality/ budget/client satisfaction and safety
• Participate in delivery of multi-discipline projects ensuring they are managed competently, minimising cost and optimising company/contractor labour force, while ensuring safety and environmental issues are paramount
• Ensure appropriate channel of communication is maintained with management at all levels to ensure issues are focused on by the relevant expert and that problems are anticipated early and are solved in a timely manner.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in an appropriate technical discipline
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
• Significant project management experience (planning, cost control, contracting, engineering, testing)
• Strong knowledge of Company, Group and statutory policies and procedures in relation to engineering, technology and project management
• Strong knowledge of Subsea Production System design, construction, testing, commissioning and installation with offshore experience gained in the North Sea
• Ability to represent the Company both internally and externally at a senior level

• Specific aspects of knowledge:
 Subsea design codes & standards
 Marine operations using Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV)
 Lifting operations
 Techniques for managing multiple third party interfaces to a project
 Government regulations for notifications, authorisations, permitting and consents required for offshore operations
 Offshore lifting and installation supervision
