The Role:
Subsea Project Engineer (Hardware / Installation Project Engineer)

The Subsea Operations Function in the Regional Performance Unit is seeking a Subsea Project Engineer (Hardware / Installation). The post holder will report to the Subsea Minor Project Team Leader and be based in Baku, Azerbaijan.

He (she) will responsible to interface with contractors for detail design scope, constructability & installation design. He (she) will be also responsible to interface with internal and external project teams and third party design contractors. Occasional visits to offshore facilities or contractors will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take a lead in delivering project works copes in Appraise, Select, Define or Execute stages.
• Take a lead in constructability & installation review
• Assist the project team in managing project costs and schedules.
• Contribute to providing subsea technical support and expertise as required for Subsea Operations Team activities.
• Generate equipment specifications, Statement of Requirements, Contractor works scopes.
• Providing support to manage any outstanding manufacturing activities at the subsea equipment vendors facilities.
• Overview subcontractor activities.
• Ensure compliance of work to Client engineering technical practices (ETPs).
• Take a lead in overseeing procurement activities of high-value capital plant and materials.
• Organise and run Risk Assessments of subsea activities.
• Organise and prepare for PEER reviews and gatekeeper meetings.
• Conducting reviews of project technical documentation relating to subsea hardware including the subsea Xmas Trees, Manifolds, SSIVs, Risers, Connection Systems and Well Jumpers.

• Responsible for overseeing construction, fabrication, FAT, SIT, transportation and SRT of the subsea hardware equipment
• Review the installation procedure and endorse the installation analyses / methods
• Review and endorse the tooling for installation
• Interface with the Subsea Execution Team to ensure that the vessel is adequate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum BSc in an engineering discipline is required. MSc in an engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer (CEng – UK) or Professional Engineer (PE –US) would be an advantage
•Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry with at least 10 years engineering experience working with subsea hardware equipment / systems, construction vessel, diving and ROV
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
•Experience of multicultural project teams

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The role requires the successful candidate to have knowledge of the design and operation of typical subsea equipment including trees, manifolds and connector systems, and the applicable subsea industry standards and practice. A thorough understanding of subsea materials, manufacturing methods, welding and quality processes is also desirable. Knowledge of Client standards and group practices is desirable.
