The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
The job holder will be responsible for managing subsea engineering activities associated with all project stages from concept selection, FEED, detail design, installation and operations of subsea Oil & Gas facilities. This post is a shared resource, working within the Capital Projects Group of the company and covering a number of projects at any given time.

The job holder will functionally report to the Lead Subsea Facilities Engineer and to the Project Managers on day to day issues. The job holder will be part of the Capital Project group and will work as an integrated member of the Project Management Team to deliver projects in accordance with the company.

Key Accountabilities

• Active participation in the work to achieve concept selection during initial stages of the project.
• Preparing and evaluating subsea contract scopes of work and tender.
• Identifying and managing all interfaces with subsea engineering with other disciplines to ensure a well co-ordinated design.
• Will be the company representative on subsea facilities contracts including design and construction;
• Recommending and completing peer assists and managing the subsea facilities aspects of the company Assurance programme.
• Interfacing with Operations Group and co-ordinating internal discipline review and Assurance activities.
• Managing subsea engineering studies by specialist consultants.
• Providing subsea technical input and support project teams as required.
• Monitoring contractor performance in respect of cost and schedule, HSSE, and technical execution, and providing feedback to the project team on progress.
• Identifying and providing subsea facilities support to statutory documentation, including the Safety Case, Pipeline Works Authorisation, Consent to Construct.
• Providing Subsea Facilities input for project management activities, including cost estimating, planning, HAZOP’s, SIL Reviews, Risk Identification and Reviews.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A relevant engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experienced in subsea installation and intervention, engineering, familiarity of equipment, construction techniques, installation equipment, subsea facilities design
• Experience gained with Operator and / or Subsea Contractor in a senior engineering position.
• Skilled in the application of Company standards and functional assurance processes.
• Experienced across various project phases, from Create to Execute.
• Ability to interface across a wide range of disciplines including subsea controls, well engineering, topside facilities, operations and commercial aspects.
• A track record of having incorporated appropriate environmental aspects into the design processes.
• Strong and effective written and oral communication skills supported by interpersonal skills that allow working at a senior level within the company, with Contractors or other stakeholders.
