The Role:
The Subsea Project Engineer will be accountable for the subsea engineering, diving and marine activity scopes for all phases of the project life cycle from feasibility and concept selection through execution and handover for assigned projects. The job will plan and execute subsea design work for subsea facilities including pipelines, manifolds, controls, tie-ins, and umbilical’s which are appropriate for the phase of the project.
• Develop and implement execution plans and contracting strategies (or those already developed) for assigned scopes.
• Working with other functions, develop cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments to ensure the development uncertainty is understood and the project can be delivered in accordance with the forecasts. Be accountable and deliver the assigned scope in accordance with the estimates and forecasts.
• Interface with other disciplines for management and completion of work.
• Develop scopes of work to be contracted and select and manage completion of the scope of work within agreed schedules and budgets.
• As appropriate, develop or amend specifications for subsea materials and systems.
• Prepare design and construction procedures and attend HAZID’s, ENVID’s, HAZOP’s, Facility Model Walk Throughs and Human Factor reviews as necessary recognizing both operating and subsea construction and diving requirements.
• Become familiar with MS deliverables for each funding gate and prepare the required deliverables for the assigned scope for execution.
• Ensure that subsea design and construction technical issues are reviewed by company Technical Authorities.
• Provide technical input to required permits and consents.
• When engaged with Co-Venturer’s, represent company interests and industry best practices in a professional manner identifying key issues and working with others to develop solutions.
• Manage offshore contractors used for survey, diving, and construction works. Ensure that all subsea and marine activities are executed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner (without loss or injury) and in accordance with the project HSE management plans and company local and corporate HSE policy.
• Take a leading role in promoting company safety, quality and environmental philosophies by example.
• Ensure that all technical documents, drawings, letters, emails, transmittals, MOM’s, technical and weekly reports etc are communicated/transmitted in accordance with project approved systems and processes.
Attend and provide input to regular progress meetings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering qualification to degree level or chartered status.
• Minimum 10 years in subsea engineering, design, fabrication, testing, installation and commissioning.
• Previous role as a Subsea Project Engineer for an Operator on a subsea pipeline project from FEED through execution.
• Current offshore survival and medical certificates.
