The Company:
One of the largest oil companies who have operations throughout the globe on most major oil sites.

The Role:
The Subsea Project Manager is responsible for managing the project subsea installation scope including development of an execution plan, selection of the installation contractor and managing the contractor’s PMT, engineering and offshore execution.

• Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations.
• Build and lead a high performance team to facilitate successful delivery of the offshore execution
• Provide direction, motivation and leadership to both internal staff and external contractors
• Responsible for ensuring the installation contractor delivers a competent organisation and a high standard of resources to successfully execute the work
• Responsible for managing contractor project execution performance and scope delivery
• Manage the plan and facilities for in-country mobilisation
• Maintain awareness and promote conformance to GPO expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the construction team and the contractors.
• Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the GPO, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management and Management of Change
• Maintain close contact with the client Construction Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to project and implemented as appropriate
• Responsible for ensuring project lessons learned are captured and shared with the GPO

Subsea Installation Management
• Manage preparation of the tender package for the subsea installation scope
• Lead the tender process including tender appraisal, contractor clarifications and recommendation for award
• Develop an execution plan for the subsea scope incorporating vessel utilisation (i.e. for the new build SCV)
• Develop a strategy for managing the new build SCV including the provision of marine crew and construction teams
• Manage the implementation of the execution plan ensuring contingency strategies are in place to take account of vessel and subsea equipment availability
• Liaise closely with the M&SS Subsea Engineering Manager to ensure a close relationship is maintained with the EPMS contractor, vendors and supplier to assure compliance with the execution plan
• Manage the selected subsea installation contractor’s PMT and engineering teams
• Manage the installation engineering and procedure development to assure timely delivery of approved procedures for mobilisation and offshore execution
• Manage the offshore project subsea installation works in accordance with client’s Q&HSE expectations
• Own the subsea installation schedule
• Provide input and supports the offshore integrated schedule and synergies across delivery groups
• Manage the subsea installation costs and own the subsea installation budget
• Assure the new build SCV, supporting vessels and installation equipment meets all the project needs to execute the subsea installation scope
• Manage execution of the testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of the subsea system in preparation for handover to operations
• Responsible for delivering availability of the subsea system for the first two years of operation
• Ensure clients offshore installation and construction processes are in place
• Maintain close contact with the client Construction Management network to ensure the relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to project

• Exhibits understanding of of client construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality
• Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects
• Ability to intervene in in critical situations in order to redirect construction focus and achieve the required result
• A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills
• Financial and commercial awareness.
• Self-motivated.
• Computer literate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree and professional status accreditation with a recognised institution
• A minimum of 10years experience in Project Management of subsea installation to include structures, umbilical’s and remote tie-in systems
• A thorough knowledge of subsea hardware and operation
• Proven capability of building and leading successful teams
• Experience with site construction activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues.
