The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
Direction Received:

Reporting to the Cable Installation and Protection Lead, the incumbent will be provided with supervision and direction.

Direction Exercised:

This position will have no subordinates.

Summary of Job Function:

The incumbent will work within the Marine Crossings Team and support the execution of the submarine HVdc cable protection scope for the marine crossing of the Strait of Belle Isle for the Project, and perform project engineering duties in support of other MCI scopes as required.
In addition, the incumbent will assist in representing Client's interests during development and execution of the Project.

Principal Activities, Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will support the following:
- Technical support of the HVDC submarine cable protection scope including engineering, supply and installation.
- Support and assist in key interfaces as they relate to cable protection;
- Support and assist in key interfaces as they relate to the HVDC specialties and EPCM contractor;
- Vessel selection / audits / importation;
- Onsite and offshore company representation at mobilisation worksites, fabrication facilities and marine vessels.
- Technical support to commercial process including scope generation, clarification , evaluation and contract review.
- Participate in design, constructability and operability reviews.
- Participate in risk workshops and risk management activities.
- Input of quality audit, qualification and surveillance processes.
- Schedule development and progress reporting.
- Documentation review.
- Support Contractor Management during execution of the Cable Supply and Install, Subsea Rock Installation and Horizontal Directional Drilling campaigns.
- Management of Change, Interfaces, Non-conformances and Contractor Reporting
- Ocean Characteristic Monitoring and MetOcean Campaign
- Iceberg Monitoring Campaign
- Ancillary Equipment Design and Manufacture
- Permitting
- Risk register and mitigation
- Contracting and Installation Schedule
- Lessons Learned
- Decision Packages

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

• Project engineer with 0-5 years successful experience related to execution of major projects;
• Marine installations project experience, preferably, in East Coast Canada marine environments, with focus on seabed infrastructure installations.
• Prior experience interfacing with consulting engineering companies and execution contractors.
• Understanding of engineering processes and management systems.
• Background with resolution of technical / management issues during projects' planning and execution phases.
