Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
Substation Control System Support Engineer. Responsible for the support of Substation Control System Products including SCADA, Protection Relays and Remote Terminal Units. Providing on site commissioning support, maintenance and out of hours call out service.

· Responsible for the support of all installed SCADA
products and systems, including managing the internal and external interaction
and reporting.
· Working in conjunction with the Power System Automation Department to assist in the installation and
test of new SCADA, Protection and RTU projects.
· Maintenance, install and test new database releases for substation control systems.
· Work on an ‘on call Rota’ to provide out of hours emergency call out service to existing customers.
· Maintain the reporting and record system for customer problems and fixes.
· Help to maintain the spares and customer standby systems.
· To ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures and Accountancy Policies
· Preparation of method statements, risk assessments and test reports

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Strong background knowledge of the control and
protection of power transmission and distribution
systems.
· Full UK car driving licence
· Good Working Knowledge of SCADA & RTU’s.
· Demonstrate excellent customer focus.
· Security clearance disclosures

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A good protection background with the ability to
configure and test protection relays.
· Qualified to recognisable Education Standards.
· Strong people skills.
· National Safety Passport.
· LUL LUCAS
· National Grid BESC and competent person
· Good understanding of the CDM regulations and
current H&S legislation.
