The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
The client is currently recruiting for a Subsurface Data Specialist. The primary focus of this position is to provide day-to-day operational support for all Subsurface Data Management (SDM) activities under the direction of the Subsurface Data Coordinator and the operational requirements of the projects Subsurface business demand.

Key responsibilities of this position include:
• Relevant data loading and Quality Control (QC) activities across the Department's databases.
• Providing initial subsurface technical data support - this includes induction support for new SDM end-user staff.
• Requires an in depth knowledge of E&P Technical Data and the associated systems, standards, process and procedures required to manage that data.
• Is the primary contact for the escalation of issues related to subsurface technical data and the management of this data.
• Recent 'hands-on' experience of subsurface data management.
• Providing business assistance to the 2nd (vendor and problem investigation including first stage fixes) and 3rd tier (detailed problem solving) subsurface technical data support.
• Induction support for new SDM end-user staff.
• Able to identify & facilitate the effective resolution of problems.
• Good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Self starter, innovative problem solver with a 'can-do' outlook.
• Operates as a significant support contributor to the Information Management practice on behalf of the subsurface discipline community.
• Works with discipline teams and their leaders to ensure services are delivered to the SDM requirements are met.
• Work with third party service providers to integrate their services into a seamless, integrity-assured and reliable IM&T production environment for SDM.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Industry experience in support roles of multiple subsurface disciplines, Geotechnical data management or related field, or relevant experience.
• Strong practical background in subsurface data with experience associated with Upstream Exploration and Production (E&P) Technical data with particular emphasis on operational experience with data loading, data QC, data manipulations, use of scripting languages and data formatting tools.
• Some knowledge of E&P business process including exploration, drilling, and field development.
• Some knowledge of E&P data management, data quality management and data integration systems.
• Knowledge of E&P technical packages such as SMT's Kingdom suite of software, Landmark suite (OpenWorks, other apps), Petrosys Mapping and/or DBMap, Paradigm's Geolog, Schlumberger's Petrel, Eclipse and Intersect as an advantage.
• Knowledge of E&P commercial data systems (eg. IHS, GPinfo, Wood Mackenzie).
