The Company:
Our client is a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions for the infrastructure (pipe systems, and power and communication cables), automotive and advanced packaging markets. They have its headquarters in the UAE and Singapore.
Our client is on the way to increase their capacity even further with a multi - billion dollar mega- project. By the end of 2013, they will have added a 3rd Ethane cracker to create the largest Ethane cracker complex in the world.

The Role:
About the job:

Borouge will bring on stream an additional 2.5 million t/y of polyolefins under its Borouge 3 initiative, the next phase of its expansion plans manufacturing capacity. In addition to enhancing its Borstar® technology-based polypropylene and polyethylene offer, this major expansion to be completed at the end of 2013 will include the production of low density polyethylene (LDPE) production capacity to meet the specific needs of the rapidly growing wire and cable infrastructure market and to compliment Borealis' current investment in 350,000 t\y of LDPE capacity in Sweden.
Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be part of the Operations team and will be responsible for:
• Coordinating and supervising on assigned shift, the operation of LDPE unit in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the production, processing and distribution of diversified LDPE products meeting specified qualities and quantities within the designated area.
• Coordinating periodic checks, adjustments and maintains follow-up on all maintenance activities in his respective operating area. Completes shift supervisor log book and other work reports noting state of operating plants, corrective action taken and highlighting other items of plant that need further attention.
• Supervising plant start-ups, shutdown and emergencies as per established operating procedures.
• Regular contacts with Laboratory and Material Handling at supervisory level for general coordination of operations and routine maintenance work.
• Regular contacts with Area Maintenance Engineers/Supervisors and Safety & Fire personnel on shift, to coordinate and follow up maintenance activities.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
About you: As a successful candidate you will have:
• Technical or Diploma Course or higher
• At least 6 years work experience in petrochemical plants including 3 years in a Supervisory position in an LDPE unit.
• Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Very good analytical & leadership skills.
• Excellent team player.
• Proficient in the use of computer, i.e. MS Office, CMMS, etc.
